Solar Corona instead of Superior Positions to give smaller ships a little better chance at survival.

This seems like a good option fleet-wise for running this sort of squad formation.

I like it. And you get extra points for the name. But how are you planning to activate so many bombers with only two carriers? You have 11 Squadrons, but can only activate 8 a round before adding Squadron tokens, which I don’t think you want to do with CR90s or HHs. Consider either getting Hera or a few Rogues in there to help with pushing your squadrons.

Neither.

EWS is only good truly against squads (still questionable, really it's just alpha insurance) and if you have a 10 squad grinder you shouldnt need to worry about that.

Derlin is like a really bad more expensive Brunson, and honestly has no place on anything.

Quite agree. On such a small ship base EWS won't hamper bombers with move & Fire from a squadron command or Rogue. Difficult to keep ships on a flank arc too with the large front arc and if that has EWS on it then you are sailing straight for trouble.

Go for a CR90-A with TRC and Jiana's light and use range and the occasional obstacle to stay alive. Drop Derlin and Toryn to get enough points.

Yes, that seems to look much better. Ill try this out tomorrow!

This looks like a blast to play.

Took against Sato MC75 fleet today with Profundity/RLB w/bwings/pooping out a GR with RLB/moar bombers. Garels Honor w/ ExRaxx.

A horrible 'first try' game blunder led me to lose my hammerheads in one turn with no shooting. Ghah!

However....on their approach, everything Squadroned and the bomber assault did much shield and 4 hull to Profundity. Slicer kept it from launching bombers.

3 hull healed via blast doors.

It attacks first and launches b wings....tears apart all 3 HH's before they unleash thier payloads...uh oh!

My 2 GR'sset up 6 bombing runs and TRC's finish off the big ship. Bombers basically carried the fight.

Super fast game. Opponent tabled aftrr MC75 and HH destroyed. Super fun play despite my blunder.

I think this fleet may stick with me a bit....possibly even go to NOVA.

Wexley's ability proc'd 3 times I think.

I don't think Nora's really worth her points to be honest. You can almost take 2 regular Y-wings for her cost, or go for something like Dutch instead to give yourself a bit more oomph against squadrons. Being able to tell Maarek "NO! No activate!" is really nice.

Aside from that I love the list. I think you'll need to be careful with how you approach (without boosted comms your ships will need to be close to the fight.) Overall I really like it though. I had a lot of fun with a similar list, adding Yavaris and doing an ace-ball instead of so many generics, and it was a blast to fly.

Just came across this post today and Im thinking of running a very similar fleet in a SC this weekend.

Any tips on how it plays out ie Strengths/Weaknesses/Command preferences and the like??

Go balls out/fearlessly for the big ship in the opposing list.

Dave_M is David Maloney, by the looks of it he had a similar list to yours, saw this thread and tweaked it, then ran it at the Store Champ where I saw it.

Yep, that's me. I came up with a very similar list to yours a while ago and then stumbled across this thread the week before the tournament, hence the question above!
I liked your list a lot better because it was very points efficient and I also hadn't considered that many Y's as I only own a few (I think I originally only had 4 my list..)
Unfortunately I wasn't able to do it justice coming in around 7th I think??? It was really fun to play and I may give it another run soon
