New Canon E-wing Revealed in Star Wars Resistance?

My money is on this fighter being a T-85 or other iteration of the X-wing. The canopy and general layout of the fuselage is very very close to the T-65 and T-70. It could still be a totally unrelated ship but let’s face it, it’s Dave Filoni, he’s gonna connect everything he can

I really gotta' find him a therapist to talk to about his wolf thing, man.

It's unnerving.

Weren't you the furry one?

How much you want to bet he has tons of wolves in his office? Could you imagine being the person that tries to ask if he has a problem?

*Guy enters the room with Dave sitting there at his desk brushing the fur of the live wolf on his desk* "Uh, Dave we need to talk."

"Oh? What about?"

"Well, you know how you like to add wolves into everything?"

*Wolf growls at the guy* "Yes, continue."

"You know, maybe we can talk about this another time."

Yup! So when the furry tells you that your thing about wolves is weird, your thing about wolves is weird as crap.

Mind you there's a difference to those two wholly different things.

I'd buy that he does!

That is a hilarious mental image.

I mean it's not that different from being into Rodians or bothans or something.

What makes you think that's any better?

I get fetishes... It's not that. Anthropomorphic animals, not so much. Do you enjoy the costume or what it represents? I kinda get the former one. The latter... Nope.

Also the overlap with anime peasants is far too great for it to be a decent thing.

Costumes? oh god, no not the suiters, euughhh. This ain't the place for a conversation like this though, hit me up in PMs or **** if you have a Discord, that'd work too.

Point taken on the anime guys though.

Thanks, but I'll pass for now. I just had a long day at work, my mind is not ready for this.

Totally fair. Door's open though, and I'm probably the most reasonable person you'll ever get to ask these questions, because man some folks are just

gone

Be careful what you promise, I just might ask them one day.

I'm an open book!

Most of the speculation I’ve seen has been that that ship is some variation of an X, the T-85 maybe.

Guess it could be an E, but doesn’t really seem to have any of the characteristics I consider defining for the E-Wing.

I am curious if the jet wash behind it is artistic license or if the engine is actually in the central fuselage. That would be a pretty significant departure from the previous incom fighters.

Could be an added booster like the one Poe used in TLJ.

What's funny is that this makes B(lade)-wing the only letter fighter name that makes sense, considering that they use a different alphabet.

This is why GRRM is a genius, he went ahead and made the language of Westeros into an ever-so-slightly modified English on an alternate Earth-type planet. That way he can get away with certain things like puns and other references that only work if the characters were actually speaking English instead of an alien language translated to English.

anyway, who do folks always have an issue with B-wings and give every other Alphabet-Wing a pass especially given the existence of the Aurebesh and that (for example) the ‘x’ equivalent ‘xesh’ Looks like a triangle and nothing like x-wing.

Actually there is a better way to see the B on the B-Wing. Hold it where its flying horizontal, cockpit at one end and main cannon at the other and draw a B over the S-Foils. They are evenly spaced so you end up with a perfect B. As for the E you can either use both engines or both cannons, either way it makes an E.

Hmm, I always thought the B-wing was so named because it looked like a lower case 'b':

It's a classic hot rod of the SW universe of this era.... Rebuilt, custom job. (my guess)

(E-wing: Escort)

Oh hey, what's going on in this topic?

Lol... So I realize how that sounds.

What I meant is that I understand the fetish that involves clothing and make up and stuff like that. Actually most people do, dressing up is the most common fetish in the world. I definitely don't understand dressing up as animals :D

Oh no, all sorts of things before that. Dressing up, feet, S&M, swinging, asphyxiation... loads of things :D

The Rebel starfighter designations are in High Galactic not Aurebesh

It’s all wacky nonsense given they don’t even use our alphabet for their writing.

remember Star Wars does not have “earthquakes” because there is no “earth”

In the Original Trilogy they never said "X-Wing", "Y-Wing", "A-Wing" or "B-Wing" in the movie dialogue at all. X-Wings were referred to as "T-65s". They never refer to the other models in any way shape or form. They basically avoided it via referring to squadron names.

After decades of toys, books, games, comics, etc all calling them by the letters, that naming convention leaked into the on-screen references in the animated series and the movies. As a reasonable retcon, just consider it a translation of some other, similar symbol. It doesn't have to be a reference to a letter in whatever language they're supposed to be using, after all.

TESB:

"Ship approaching, X-Wing class."

"Good. Monitor Skywalker and allow him to land."

When do they say T-65?

And in Empire, the officer tells Vader “ ship approaching X-Wing class”
