Some Core Set cards spoiled!

Prediction: Afterburners and Supernatural reflexes are going to be everywhere (unless priced fairly high). Afterburners seem well designed with the 3+ requirement and 2 charges.

Fang Fighters with afterburners can also 3+ speed, boost, then BR into red focus. Starvipers too (into Calculate in the case of Guri ).

SR seems almost too good, but I trust it will be priced correctly. Force indeed seems very powerful, as it should be. Just price correctly and it's fine.

Sq leader + TO is neat, nice for support ships. Feels like pseudo 2.0 PtL but with positioning requirement.

Elusiveness is still very interesting also for general jousting, I like that upgrade.

An interesting interaction with Supernatural Reflexes on Luke - he can use it without taking damage, only if his S-Foils are closed!

Afterburners are a card that looks pretty excellent for everything, but also balanced like you say. If it was not charge-limited and basically, "EVERYONE IS SNAP WEXLEY!" then it would be horrendously overpowered and back to 1.0 EU. In order to use it you have to be flying fast and on small ships, all those green turns are 1- and 2-speed, making it tougher to utilize it in a knife-fighting situation. Interceptors, for example, can't come off a stressed round hard-turning, free 'Burner boost, Focus, Barrel roll - unless they go straight.

I'm a little disappointed in Porkin's ability. It gives him a hit that will hit shields first. The old power would give him hull damage....that R5-D8 could fix....all with the cover of shields. If you used Porkin's ability and then R5-D8 there was only an 11% chance if still having a hit, but you always removed the Stress.

Now, though, you probably want to go with an R2 as Shields are just better to replenish instead of hull. So much for his actual Astromech working well on him.

Porkins wasn't so bad, but his pricing is what killed him. That and not PS9....and X-wings dropping out.

Herm... so I was going through these pictures to add to my master tracker ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DMqgr3MQPStvLtLQRCLr0b_hcvNz53Sow7IGB7gXN_U/edit?usp=sharing ) and I noticed something. We know from the X Wing Expansion unboxings that they contain Wedge Antilles, Thane Kyrell, Jek Porkins, and Biggs Darklighter. We also know from All Wings Report In that Garven Dreis is in the game. But from this unboxing, we see Jek Porkins and Luke Skywalker.

So... Where's Garven, and why's Jek in two releases? The same reasons that others were saying to include Jek over Biggs advocate including Jek over Garven (his ability is useless in an one X Wing game)... But then does that mean the guys that got the X Wing Expansions at Worlds got a different X Wing expansion than what will be commercially available?

Curious and Curiouser...

Uh, do we?

This video shows Wedge, Thane, Garven and Biggs in the T-65 expansion.

This arrangement makes sense. Garven and Biggs are useless by themselves, so there's no point including them in the core set where core set only games will only ever have one X-Wing in them.

R5 can fix crits and repair hull without disabling your weapons. They will also likely be cheaper than R2.

Also a little scared that R2 and R2-D2 are worded differently... i mean its clear both ways how it works but why would they be worded differently? i thought FFG was trying to introduce continuity in there wording.

When you have something 100% identical and yet its worded differently? How FFG?

Same for the R5's..... really upset.

At first I thought it was the same ol' FFG fudge, with the only difference being the Uniqueness and faction availability.... I thought about this for a while and it does sound the same- but I now I'm thinking that the "cost" you pay (spending/gaining tokens) may be affected by other rules.

For the R2, you spend the Charge and gain the Disarm token... to recover the Shield. The "cost" would be 2 things.

R2-D2, you spend the Charge ...to recover the Shield and gain the Disarm token. The "cost" is just the Charge spending.

I think a pilot, ship or another upgrade my interact with the Disarm token and weather it is gained before or after the Shield recovery.

That is true, but you really start to not want to use Porkin's ability once you get into hull.

enh. if you hurt yourself with porkins, you now have no stress and can immediately repair that damage, so you've essentially spent an R5 charge to remove a stress and clear up your dial for next turn. if you don't hit yourself with Porkins, you now have your action open.

Huh... Don't know how I screwed up my sources then.

Also keep in mind that Porkins only hits ⅜ times. So technically the odds are marginally on your side.

If you lose a shield you can't repair it. What I like before was the hits went straight through to Shields and hit the hull. That was great for his ability.

The conversion kits are there to bring existing players up to speed with the 2nd Edition waves, not the other way around.

You were saying that there could be extra X-Wing pilots that aren't in the core set or X-Wing expansion in the conversion set. And there isn't.
