So, I went and saw Solo, and completely enjoyed it. It hits all the right notes. It was a really good heist/action adventure romp. The actor playing young Han Solo did a really good job. It was clear he studied the original trilogy thoroughly when it came to Han Solo.
The story also does actually touch upon a lot of the lore we've known for years. How Han and Chewie became fast friends, how Han got the Falcon. It also gives us our first glimpse of a few places only referenced in prior SW films or shows.
A couple of terms also get canon status.
Fans who are butt-hurt about the appearance of the Falcon need not be so.
Saw it in IMAX. I very much enjoyed this movie, but still think Rogue One is the best SW movie ever made....yet.
