Last night I had a squad of Fleet troopers + Extra dude + MPL roll 9 hits on Vader with no aim. Vader blocked 5 and took 4 damage. Half his health in 1 shot.

I had an entire 6 man stormtrooper unit get one shot tonight, 7 hits on me after I cancelled 3..

i havent player them myself yet but they don’t seem to suck to me..

What was the loadout? Scattergun?

Barrage trooper and extra fleet trooper.

My oppononent has an amazing roll, almost all hits, and I had a terrible defense roll

still learning but the fleee troopers don’t seem as bad as the hype that they suck. I’m more unimpressed with the snowtroopers or at least my lack of ability to play them well

Yeah they've been far better than I gave them credit for. The Range 2 is nowhere near as limiting as it first seemed. You just needed to play them differently than Rebel Troopers.

I'm not really sure why people thought they would suck. They roll two white dice with a Surge, which is pretty good. They have short range, but it seems like most of the firefights in the game take place at range 2 or less anyway. Standy isn't always something you want to do, but when it is they do it really well.

Yeah I know for me it was definitely the Range 2 and also I have a general dislike of white dice. But with the surge, Fleeties have +50% damage per man compared to Rebel Troopers.

Most of what I read was a lot of hate about them being focused on Standby from people who didn't appreciate how useful and effective Standby can actually be in the game.

I'm still learning how to use standby well, but I just came to terms with the fact that their unit keyword is not really strong. I just consider their card blank and if I get any use out of it, it's a bonus.

Standby has some synergy with force push. But in general is easily countered unless you have LOS Blocking terrain all around an area your opponent wants to be.

They don't suck, one shotted a full health speeder bike with a full squad and scatter. 10 white and 2 red is no joke.
