So I just want to see what other Imperial players feel is the minimum number of trooper units to run and their best load outs in competitive lists.

I personally think 4 stormtrooper units all with just DLT-19s is the minimum I would run competitively.

I don't really have a minimum, but 68 point Stormtrooper + DLT units are the basic building blocks of my lists. I'm pretty happy with the 68 point Snowtrooper + Flamethrower as an alternative that also make a good platform for Impact grenades. I don't think the latter is good enough to replace the former, but I'm starting to feel a 2 storm:1 snow ratio isn't a terrible plan. Having a unit that loses nothing for advancing on objectives is really good and they are pretty phenomenal Rapid Reinforcement options, particularly with Impact Grenades.

The minimum I will run is 4 Squads with a heavy in each squad. I don't tend to like the squads without heavies currently. Whether it's 4 DLTs, or 2 DLTs and 2 Flametroopers depends on the list.

Honestly though, 5 is my preference currently. I think that might change when Special Forces come out.

When the scouttroopers come out im gonna test 3 stormtrooper units with DLTs and 1 scouttrooper unit and maybe even a 2nd unit. They seem really good if used with vader as frontline assault squads.
