They are going to make us wait until GenCon. They really are. deep sadness...... deep dark tentacles of despair.

the hyperspace(or fake if you will) report was the last straw for me. I'll still play this game and I have 1 more tournament that I'm slated to run in june but I'm pretty much done trying to recruit for this game. if FFG doesn't want to actively support their game I'm not going to go out of my way to do so.

I've started building 40k models again, I picked up the books and once I get my army back in shape after 4 years of storage I'll start attending their casual games again to relearn before going back into tournaments. It's frustrating, FFG's focus on Legion drove me back to gw.

Alright, Crabbok - you frequently have some inside info. How do you know? Spill? Why do they hate us so? ?

na, this started with legion. X-wing is gonna x-wing, but they've devoted so many resources to legion in an attempt to fight 40k and WMH that they've abandoned their other games (outside of x-wing). X-wing NEEDS a second edition, the game has turned to mush with all of the releases, but the "monthly" schedule they were aiming for with legion resulted in a year of no info for IA while legion was in development and now the same for armada with legion being in production.

It's honestly not even that much fun to joke about anymore. I'm the type of person that can find humor in a funeral, but this situation is really just sad and I don't see anything particularly positive on the other side of it.

I don't have any inside info - It's just that today was yet another Friday and nothing.

True. I’m on the west coast where it’s only 2:45. Your probubly right - I dont remember ever seeing them post news past 5pm Eastern.

No inside info, eh? No way they sent the Executor to you months ago to unbox, but told you they’d nerf or ban the Arquitens and Lando if you spoiled it?

July 13th closest Friday to my Birthday. lol

Still waiting on U-Wings and then I will finally be able to finish blue squadron and with Mel's shield gate get my custom battle of scarif going.

Dark Sphere (London) has a sweet Scarif setup for X-Wing, with the terrain and tower, and a perspex playing surface at the height just below the top of the tower (so the tower protruded through into the playing area).

I'm away at the moment, but I'll see if anyone local can grab a few pics when they're next there.

What's the rush? I still haven't picked up my wave 7 yet. Are they any good?

I only buy rebels - don’t have Liberty, Hammerheads, or Pelta. MC75 still in the box.

I am still pretty competitive at Regionals etc.

Waves are a crutch.

Good luck, hopefully that goes better for you than it did for me. 40k is still incredibly inbalanced. Armada has issues, but it's nothing like 40k. I gave 8th ed 6 games to try and convince myself that GW has changed, and I'm putting my thousands of points of Chaos Marines right back into storage.

I am beyond frustrated with FFG, but Armada is still the best TT miniatures game being played right now.

I think we have to conclude that Armada may be a failed venture. While it is seemingly successful and profitable game, I suppose FFG has decided that it cannot be as profitable as Legion or X-Wing. When you're dealing with finite overseas production facilities and finite shipping space/costs, why run a new wave of Armada when it won't be nearly as profitable as similar materials/resources invested into X-Wing and Legion production?

Also, then you save time and money by having developers, artists, and other manpower efforts spread across less projects.

At this point, even if they announce a new wave soon or at Gencon, it may be too late. Locally, we used to have a strong scene with ~10 people at kit tourneys and 20-30 for Store Champs. But I'd wager that we've lost about half of our local scene, with many of the folks selling (or attempting to sell) their collections to jump into other games. The last kit tournament we tried to run had 3 people show up.

RIP Armada. ?

Our scene has grown a lot recently, especially since the release of Wave 7 just a few months ago.

We get 4-8 people a week at one store, and 2-4 a week at another store locally.

We get 6-10 folk for mini-events we've run with spare kits and under a weeks notice.

We get 10-15 for current season kits and store champs.

We get 20ish for Regionals.

Euros had to bump up their ticket sales for Armada and it still sold out in no time, 72 tickets gone and I know they'd have sold more if they'd had space to increase it further. It's still the only FFG game to have sold out at Euros.

Armada in the UK at least seems downright vibrant right now!

Everyone has different anecdotes from their local scenes. Just because it's weak or strong in one place doesn't make that indicative of the games situation worldwide.

You kind of cracked the code right there:

Armada players are after Wave 8.

Wave 8 is shortened to W8

Pronounce W8 as "wait"

We've just gotta keep waiting, the clue's in the name. Illuminati confirmed.

I like to think of it as "WEight" because the SOMETHING BIG will be HEAVY.

As requested! I believe these pics were actually taken at an event, rather than in-store.

I was also sent some trench run setup pics from a couple of years prior too.
