Here is a picture I took of the Recruitment Kit contents prior to our events earlier this month. You can clearly see what is on each of the coins and compare the size to the Trooper Upgrade cards.

However I'm going with it is an order token because in all ways it looks looks like a gold/silver order token for a commander unit and in no way looks like a Commander Token.
Now, this will obviously be solved when the next kit comes out that has one of them for corps, spec ops, support, heavy or operative.

I believe Neon referred to them as the promotion tokens and not order tokens...

they are Commander tokens not Order tokens, but this is the interwebs so believe whatever you want. ? There are at least a few things I could point out to support my position, like the design on the coin compared to the design on the Commander token, the fact that the contents of the next kit have already been revealed, etc, but y'know, none of that matters, really.

I think part of it stems from the fact that it's a prize. It should be something you really want.
FFG's like, "Oh, your commander died? Here's a cool metal token to mock you the rest of the game" and some people just can't handle it...

An order token is a circle with a faction symbol on one side and a commander unit symbol on the other.
A commander token is pentagonal with the same art on both sides.
The metal coins you posted look like one and not the other.

The coin is a stylized representation of the Commander Token. The commander symbol is surrounded by rays very reminiscent of the top of the cardboard Commander Token. It is considerably smaller than an order token and closer to the size of the cardboard Commander token.
Plus, the Operation information even calls it a Commander Token but if you've not held one in your hands or ever looked at the Operation pamphlet, I can see where confusion may occur.

I didn't think collecting all 18 coins (if it was to be like that) would take long. Even a year isnt a big ask.

Agreed. I'm still waiting for my Bleed tokens in Imperial Assault...
Finally had a chance to take a pic of the Commander Order token, Commander Promotion token, and the Commander Coin. Hope this helps.

It might be petty to say, but it's a shame the metal token has the embossed detail below the central icon - the cardboard token's image is meant to be a medallion hanging on a ribbon and the metal token should have accurately reflected that too.
