Potential for vertically tall ships like the Y-8 mining vessel for Scum?

By Vector, in X-Wing

We have large starships that are horizontally long but what about the potential for a vertically long ship like the Y-8 mining vessel?

Standing at 140 meters tall, the ship was used mainly for mining but also by mercenaries as capital ships who modified them with laser cannons. The ship was equipped with heavy shielding to protect itself from meteorites and pirates.

The Firespray and the B-Wing are both tall ships. I don't know anything about that ship, but I don't see why more tall ships could not be included.

And Aphra's ship. I'd love to see her make it into X-Wing somehow.

I'd love to have the Y-8 on the table.

It's just more of a concern of practicality. The Y-8 is about as tall as the Imperial Raider is in length so last thing you'd want is the stands to snap or for it to keep toppling over due to its weight, granted the large ships in X-Wing aren't really that heavy.

Yeah, I think if it were to be in the game it would have to have a modified stand.

All these people talking about tall ships and no mention of the BSF? For shame.

Also, it would be totally sweet to see the Ark Angel in S&V. I wish we had more technical details on the ship.

I mean, it's already in the game, right?

As in, it makes it very, very clear that tall-and-skinny is eminently possible, and indeed, a decent amount more practical and stable than stuff like the Ghost or even the Deci.

So yeah, bring on the tall-and-skinny.

I'm not sure tall ships really fit into the game.

On a more serious note, I would really like to see the B-Wing oriented to not be a tall ship:

On the contrary.

I just ordered some ring magnets and ball bearings, so my B-Wings, along with other ships will soon be able to flip around and tilt, etc.

Magnets are your friends.

mine is. :-)

They'd have to be willing to do an Old Republic and Sith Empire faction expansion.

And that would be RAD.

Wow, great idea of ship. I love the idea of a vertical big ship, and I love the idea a ship that could interact with obstacles.

I also wish it had been introduced like that, with the peg centered on the wing.

Fingers crossed for a rotating resculpt?

...Ark angel?

Hey, it's in destiny

Problem with vertical ships is they'll all look like lumpy sprays or Bwings

I'd be all down for the Fairwind, but at this point with no ships from the New Sith Wars or Old Republic era in general yet in the game, seems unlikely but never say never.

We do however also have the Blood Brother

and the Tof bulk cruiser, however at 1,800 meters in length it'd seem more likely for Armada if they were to introduce Scum.
