Happy Friday

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

Hello friends of the FFG forum, with Monday being a company Holiday for a lot of people, I hope everyone gets an amazing and restful weekend.

This week I want to know what should the first Epic Armada Ship be for Imperial and Rebels?

Edited by Cubanboy

executor is pretty obvious for the imperials. I'm not sure what I'd like to see for rebels, I'm not sure they have a comparable ship that isn't just another SSD

Imperials: The almighty Executor class, or another SSD variant or dreadnought.

Rebels: Honestly not sure they have anything big enough.

Imperials: SSD (Executor)

Rebels: Um... stolen SSD?

Executed for sure for the Empire and the Mon Cal Viscount is similar size to the SSDs.

ALL CHANT THE REBELLION HOPE! Lusankya!!!

If not Lysankya, I would love to see a Lucrehulk-class Carrier for the Rebellion fleet,

as it would be just amazing to deploy a billion x-wings and other assorted fighters from that ship. (Also, it would work as a Nice campaign piece as a base for the entire Rebellion for a time.

Is the Viscount still canon? If it isn’t, the Mark 1 Starhawk may be an alternative. Not epic size, but might be a good Rebel ship to come out at the same time as an SSD. Problem is no one knows what it looks like.

Palpatine Voice: "I will make it canon!"

Haha but seriously FFG created the Raider, I'm sure they could fudge in a behemoth of a mon Cal ship haha

I have plans to use one off the mat for my rebels players some point in the campaign I'm working on. Could be fun.

Just a joke but Imperial will get Spaceball I and the following cards

commander: Dark Helmet ---> During the command phase your opponent may set your command dial. 30 pts

officers: Evil Colonel Sandurz ---> At begin of the ship phase exhaust this card to to change the top command dial on 1 friendly ship dist 1-5 10pts

weap team: Gunner's mate First Class Philip A**hole ---> While attaking, you may exhaust this card and spend 2 dice to change 1 of your dice to a hit icon 7pts

support team: Radar dude ---> when you reveal a command exhaust this card do "comm noise" effect on an enemy ship dist 1-3 8pts

offensive retrofit: Ludicrous speed ---> when you activate you must perform a speed 4 maneuver with no yaw 6pts

on a more serious way i would realy like the ssd or any big ship from OT time because if we get sequel stuff this mean we will get general Hux and this guy gonna be worse than my spaceball depicture...

For the Empire, I expect the SSD Executor.

For the Rebels, I would go with either the Bulwark Battle Cruiser as a heavy battleship with low squadron compared to the SSD, or the Lucrehulk as a super carrier, with low attack Dice compared to the SSD.

Though, for the record, If only the Empire got an Epic scale ship to start, I would be fine with that. They have been down one ship to the Rebels since the core. It's about time to even things up for a while.

Then wave 8 can fill the other needs of the game. A second Rebel medium, and an Imperial small in between the Gozanti and the Raider on points, preferably in a 2 pack like the hammerhead.

Viscount or the SSD Executor' sister or a brand new Calamari from FFG molded just to fight against the Executor. They did created Imperial Raider to be a match for the Corellian Corvette and they did made the Decimator to be a match for the Millenium Falcon. The rebels are waiting for brand new canon ships as well.

I had the same thought about the Bulwark Battlecruiser cuz of the Rebellion PC game, but it is pretty small in size compared to the Executor :/

Yeah, but it would still be bigger than an ISD, and asymmetrical units have always been a part of Armada.

A Nebulon (canon be damned) is probably the only ship that would make me excited for epic.

The Nebulon-Class Star Destroyer was only 1040m long. While I wouldn't be opposed to having it in Armada, that is not epic scale.

No article, no happy Friday.

Lucrehulk

Sounds fun, make sure you have Rogue Squadron docked there during the final battle of the station so its a epic escape to hyperspace as it blows up. All cinematic like

Executor and double Lucrehulk

for rebels... they gain a fleet title that has to be equipped to every ship..... 'desperate attack' add 1 hull to every medium ship & 2 to every large.... flottilas loose one hull

Can I vote none? I don’t want to have to piss away money on ships I’ll never use to get cards required to stay competitive.

If that is not an option, then Lucrehulk

Viscount or the Raddus, for the Raddus, though I'm not opposed to ffg inventing something either, as others have said.

I wouldn't mind the lukrehulk, but I really want to see both the CIS and republic to come in as factions.

Eclipse class.

I would be happy for only the empire to have epic ships, it doesn’t have to be symmetrical.

But if there are rebel epics, I’d go Bulwark or a new design entirely. Although perhaps not another mon cal ship. There are other races in the Rebellion! It’s ugly but still not more so than the AF mk2 ?
