Wat
Seriously I'm considering just converting all my stuff in French right now. There's not THAT much text on most of it lol
I've been told it was a HUGE mistake. It won't happen like that, sadly
Got to have some compensation for being french.

Source? And, another very, very reliable french store for board gaming has a similar price, just fresh: https://www.philibertnet.com/fr/x-wing-vf/66047-x-wing-le-jeu-de-figurines-kit-de-conversion-alliance-rebelle-8435407620650.html

I try to think about it, but I cannot think about a reason why I would ask for one ;-)

J'aimerais bien que toutes mes choses sont en Francais.

35 hour work weeks
5 weeks paid vacation in the nicer parts of the year
paid maternity leave
pensions
socialized health care.
Sounds like some pretty good compensation for being French to me.
Or, you can continue to enjoy being a slave to a for-profit corporate state while screaming freeeeedoooooommmmmm!
I learn french for over a year now. This sounds like great opportunity to practice.
if thats really the case, ill totally switch to the French Edition....
I may not be an economics expert - but this seems to be Price discrimination at it's worst.
Must be a USA overpriced thing. I preordered my Rebel conv kit from Chaos Cards in the UK for £35.95. Obviously not as cheap, but its in english and free postage.
I'm trying to get away without the new core set and download the rules (until my OCD kicks in).
Edited by GallanteerAnd just think...if its in French you can play vs us dumb Americans and just "tell" us what the card says. "Yup, this upgrade lets me roll 7 red dice, its really good!"

You forgot the > 1000 different cheeses, all the charcuterie, which weight in as well!
Probably
Maybe the French Players formed an union which Forces FFG to lower the Prices... Nothing unusual for france

...that's no better than what the conversion kits are costing in the US too. $39.99, free ship etc.

Not this American: I can tell a "sept" from a "trois."

Yeah, those dang unions.
French Lunchtime: Go to your employer to pick up your 8 euro lunch voucher, head down to the local brasserie for a 2 hour meal featuring decent food from the prix fixe lunch menu.
American Lunchtime: Try to coordinate a group order from the local fast food place, then eat greasy food and sugary soda at your desk for 15 minutes during your "break."

Are you under the impression I'm a yank?

All I know is here in Spain we were already discussing about it yesterday, and we were told by the Spanish Asmodee staff that they had checked with FFG and they said those prices weren’t going to be possible...
We were also thinking about switching to french versions hehe

That's roughly $48 dollars, and I've pre-ordered here in the US for $39.99 each kit, or £29.88 (also free postage but only because I got all 3 kits at once). That French price is really good if it sticks though, equivalent to $29.30. I'd be happy with 40% off full price haha, heck I was happy with 20% off for my pre-order.

Sorry, just responding from my own POV, because I am.
You pushed a button that, as a Francophile American, is often pushed even by friends of mine despite the fact that they know my enthusiasm for all things French.
If I had to guess, I'd say you were a Brit due to your casual antipathy towards the French and referral to all Americans as Yanks. Of course, now I'm guilty of stereotyping.
OTOH, as an international discussion group, random jabs at other cultures probably aren't a great idea.

I mean, we could definitely discuss the inverted economic relationship between freedom and security and how you cannot gain one without losing the other or that it comes down to a fundamental philosophical difference making neither answer inherently correct, but such discussions would be bafflingly out of place on a vehicle talking about toy space ships and a pricing anomaly for 1 country...
