YT-2400 2.0 the new Jumpmaster?

By Jadotch, in X-Wing

I'm guessing the 2400 will have one crew and one gunner. Still one less crew on the smaller ship than the Falcon, fits thematically, and still totally manageable.

It's got less hull, a red BR, and no boost, but one more green and red dice.

Really curious what Leebo will do.

Assuming Luke is even a wise pick.

Again, we dont know costs. We also dont know all the cards that can fill that slot. Luke is going to either be crazy expensive or sacrifice some seriously important stuff to get the psuedo-360 arc

Also this is a question I have because I havnt seen the Luke crew card, does it regen the Force Token? If this is representing A New Hope Luke he didnt really have a good force connection so having it NOT regen and being a once per game fix, ala the chase in A New Hope, would make sense.

He does. See the revealed photo here:

The little up arrow/ triangle to the right of the +1 indicates the force charge is recovered each round. I think all the pilots and crew we've seen with a force stat have this recovery symbol, if I am not mistaken.

I wish they had gone with a larger number of force points on these cards, with a much more limited way of recharging them. If Luke gunner crew card had, say, 2or 3 force points, no auto regent but a “recover”action or something that allowed you to regain a point for the cost of an action like many of the bombers can reload.

Yea the YT2400 and Tie Defender are the only two ships so far that looks like they might be a bit too good...luckily with adaptive pricing they can always jack up their price until they are fair I suppose.

I think the non-360 bowtie arc, the red barrel roll, and the lack of linked actions all go a long way toward reducing the power level of the ship.

Yeah, a bowtie will not be much help for turrets. If they were moving 180 arcs then I can see turrets begin more prominent.

The only time a turret is going to be good is at int 6 with a aggressive bid for going first (unless they changes the matching initiative rules).

That being said, YT-2400 is Int 5. Unless priced at early jumpmasters level of cheap, not going to be in the top.

I was worried at first too, but the others have arrived at the same conclusion I had. There's enough off screen nerfs to him that he's not that great anymore. I'm curious of only whether or not the barrel roll action counts as 'moving' for the Dash ability. Other than that it's one of the points I was overall disappointed in the 2.0 design that large Turrets weren't a separate upgrade, for ships like YTs and decimator, and epics, but Gunners some how are. Oh well. Can't have everything I guess.

Haha ignore this lunatic devs, defenders are weak and need to be dirt cheap so we can fly four together.
