Perhaps it should be noted that pilots have a Talent slot, not an EPT as well?

Technically they were never EPTs. Originally the slots didn’t have actual names, then in the FA core set they got called Elite Talents (if I recall correctly)

Why are we discussing this? I think I’ve seen one person confuse the two terms and it looked like English wasnt his first language.

It was referred to as an "Elite Talent" in the original core rulebook. The TFA Rules Reference called it simply "Elite". However, I think they were referred to as "Elite Pilot Talents" (or EPT for short) at some point around wave 4(?), I think it was an FAQ.

Because it has come up several times, as kris40k pointed out above but also elsewhere. I get it, it's new, and the little lightning bolt would make sense on an "Energy" token. But these aren't those, and it helps if everyone's on the same page.

Because Charge tokens are not Energy tokens, and people are incorrectly using the terms interchangeably.

And the couple times it’s happened they get immediately corrected by multiple people

and marinealvers thread is about the possibility of FFG replacing the energy mechanic in epic with the new charge mechanic.
