Perhaps this was answered already, but I couldn't find it. With the new linked actions, does a player have to take the linked action or can he just use the first as a single action? For example, does Old Teroch have to do Barrel Roll and (Red) Focus, causing him to become stressed, or can he just take the Barrel Roll itself without the Focus?

As far as we know, the linked part is optional.

That's what I was thinking (and hoping).

This was explained in the Team Covenant video, you do not have to take the second action, nor do you have to declare that you are going to do the linked action until after you fully resolve the first action.

And if you fail to take the linked action, you apparently do not gain the stress.

You can do the first without doing the second, you do not need to declare you are doing the link and decide to do the second action after you complete the first.
You cannot do the second action if the first fails

Can the A-Wing follow a boost with a red boost?

My belief is no you cant do it twice... but I do not have any evidence of that.

If Defenders do white koiograns, A-Wings should be able to boost twice
