I just saw Solo last night and am dying to talk about it. Has anyone else been to an early screening and wanna share impressions?

I did, (10hrs ago) but this thread needs a spoiler alert if we are going to discuss
Just got back from the cinema (UK) and have to say I was impressed.
Edit: now I'm actually awake and assuming you want no spoilers: Alden is much better than I expected (though he is still not Harrison, but that's OK). The plot was pretty solid with only a couple of minor what/why/how moments. The balance of action, humour and emotion is about right. There are also some good hints/insight at the state of the wider universe.
I'll have to see it again to be sure, but I think this will end up pretty high on my favourite star wars list.
Edited by WoofMcMooseI thought it was super-vanilla, but it could have been far far worse. I'm not sure there's any bit of it that's going to linger long in my memory, but equally there's no bits I'm desperate to forget ever happened.

How can I add a spoiler tag? I want to make sure I don’t ruin the movie for anyone

^That, without spaces.
Well given box office results the answer is no, no one is going to solo it's already failed in China and other markets.
Heard reports of cinemas in new York having as few as ten people in a screening.
One cinema in London had a grand total of three guys.
I saw it last night, it was great. Loved the added depth to the worlds, the depictions of life on Corellia, the insight into the criminal underworlds, etc. It was a great heist flick and a solid addition to the Star Wars library.

Show me on the doll where the Star Wars touched you.
Just saw it. I made a spoiler channel in my discord if you want to talk about it there -
Overall - as much as I'm a disney fanboy - I wasn't that impressed.
Less than 30 people in the theater for the showing I went to. It seemed to lack a cohesive flow. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. I’ll reflect on the movie more but I probably won’t be seeing it again in the theater. For me it’s the worst Disney Star Wars movie so far.
I saw it last night. Honestly, it was boring. Not bad like The Last Jedi, but not particularly good. Only a couple of scenes that I thought were any good. Only interesting part of the story was the cameo at the end.
well im part of the soylo boycott. ill buy it on ebay for 10$ when it hits dvd. im guessing 4-6 weeks. after all the reviews ive seen im not missing much, ill wait to see it then
I enjoyed it, and hope there are more of them! Particularly, the set up at the end left me wanting some more.
The people have rated it 57%.
Saw it last night, enjoyed it more than I expected.
Lando was great.
L3-37 was fantastic.
Han's head was too big, but the performance was good and after about 15 minutes I no longer cared who the actor was, it was Han.
And @Alpha17, you are right it was not as good as TLJ, but TLJ was a good movie, maybe not a full fan service old cannon movie but was a good Star Wars movie.
They did some DEEP dives into Star Wars lore. Considering all the problems on set, it turned out pretty good, all things considered.
Not going to lie, I was hoping it was someone else at the end.
In my opinion, boring movie and by far the worst SW film. Perhaps 2/10.

Disney fanboy too, and yeah. Coming out of the theater I likened it to more or less eating a slice of wheat bread. Its a bit of a shame since I was sort of getting into it with the opening on Corellia, but the pacing and a number of other issues just sort of made it feel meh. And could they had done anything other than that intro? I mean, just do a text crawl if you really feel the need to give the audience information the way that was handled was awkward. There were a couple things I liked, like Lando, but unlike Infinity War or Deadpool 2 which left me wanting to see them again with a smile on my face, as for Solo I would be perfectly fine not seeing again. Still would be willing to pick up FFG stuff from the film. and definitely would hate the clean Lando Falcon, especially if they made it so that the escape pod could detatch.

Eh, boring yes, worst no. At least in my opinion. Solo at least didn't leave me feeling upset or felt like a slog to get through like ATOC or TLJ. (Just my feelings, hope this doesn't start aTLJ hate spiral)
Two days in only 32 mil world wide it's not going to make its production costs back at this rate.
Why? Why include CLAPTRAP (see Borderlands videogame) in Star Wars?

And how many of these have seen it, and how many are part of the fanboy boycott?
Though given the polarity of opinion in SW fans over just about everything these days, maybe we should never expect anything more than 50%.
For those above who've seen it and weren't that impressed, I think you do have some valid criticisms, however I don't think they break the movie. Maybe I like it because I went in expecting (but not hoping or looking for reasons) to be dissapointed and instead found it to be a coherent and relatively engaging film.

We get it, you want Disney Star Wars to fail...

I've honestly been morbidly curious and looked around these forums, and wherever something new star wars is mentioned, this hobo dude just HAS to tell everybody how much he hates something.
Hating something so much has gotta' be a horrible way to live, the
obsession
that comes with it...

Right, I just feel sorry for him. I don’t understand why he can’t just let people enjoy things though?
