Special preorder damage deck

By Pewpewpew BOOM, in X-Wing

Hello.

Must I order directly from FFG to get this or will FFG provide decks to folks who preorder from a LGS?

Ask your flgs if they are goning to have them. Mine said they would.

My FLGS says they'll get them from the distributor. When this was discussed last week though the distributor did not have the complete information on the "packets." The FLGS was told they'd get a deck for each core set they'd ordered. That's all I've got. I'm giving it a few more weeks to let some more information filter out before making any decisions about a "just in case" pre-order from FFG directly.

Kinda miffed with just how stringent it is. I preordered the core set, two conversion kits and one of the resculpts.. that is quite a lot of money. I would had thought I would be eligable for a pre-order damage deck...

I pre-ordered from my FLGS who said the distributor said they would have them. I do not trust that they will get a pack for every core so I wanted to make sure I was the first on the list for preorders.

I trust the FLGS to give me the deck if they get the decks. I have less trust that the distributor will get the decks to the stores.

It will probably be fine. This stuff works out. Usually. But there have been issues with waves coming in on time and such and allocations with other games not being honored. I've found that many things in geek life are running on razor thin margins and there's no wiggle room for errors in many cases.

I'm just excited to be in at the get go with promo stuff this go around and would hate to get a bad start.

I'm more worried that the LGS will get very few promos, I see this all the time. My son also plays so this deck will allow us to buy just one core set.

Probably worth quoting the article:

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/5/1/upgrade-your-damage-deck/

"If you’re interested in receiving one of these T-65 X-Wing Damage Decks, there are two easy ways for you to get your copy while supplies last! You can pre-order the X-Wing Second Edition Core Set on our website—everyone who pre-orders at least one Core Set for X-Wing Second Edition on the Fantasy Flight Games website will receive a single T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck for free with their order!

Alternatively, you can talk to your local retailer about getting a T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck with your pre-order. Retailers should reach out to their distributors for more information about the T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck.

Pre-order your copy of the X-Wing Second Edition Core Set (SWZ01) at your local retailer or online through our website today, and get your copy of the T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck promo item!"

I asked my FLGS about the damage deck when they first put their pre-orders up - their immediate answer was "we don't know, we're just supplying the info we got from the distributor". That was changed a week later to "We've been advised by ur distributor that we should (emphasis mine) be receiveing the promotional damage deck with pre-orders".

So, I guess everyone's basically waiting on official confirmation.

Thanks for the replies.

I asked my LGS and they did not know anything about it. I will ask them to ask the dist.

I'm just disappointed in the obvious rebel bias in the promo damage decks.

It's not like Scum or Empire have a promo DD.

In 2e, anyway XD

Send them the link to the article. At least then you know they've seen it!

My FLGS would still not know about them if I hadn't encouraged them to ask about it.

Anyone know if you can get the promo deck at GenCon? It woukd suck that I get burnt for getting mine early.

I asked my flgs and they “believed they would get it”.

I have no faith that they will arrive, however I do have faith that if they arrive I’ll get one.

My FLGS that just opened couldn’t figure out how to get FFG product for months, then said he was going to get Quarter Kits for the next tourney, but didn’t. If he doesn’t get the alt art damage deck, I’ll probably preorder from another LGS the next wave.

Well, it is called X-Wing Miniatures...

All the more reason to have th promo deck be about the things the x wings are making alll splodey :P

My flgs was told it would get them, my flgs is not 100% confident it will get them, distribution has been **** since the transition.

But seriously though, when I found out the Core would have pilots and maybe upgrades not in the conv kits, and htat more than just the 1 straight would need the line, I gave up on the idea of buying a separate DD, for exactly the reason that it's a promo for the faction I don't fly and I don't really feel the need for two.

I'm sure the SO series next year will do some more promo decks if I need a spare.

I wasn't going to say it, but yeah....

My FLGS also confirmed that they would have them with the pre-orders.

someone posted elsewhere, I can't remember if it was here or on facebook, that GenCon would NOT have the promo decks.

but this is 2nd-3rd hand information at best.

Hey guys,

I have one question about the T-65 X-Wing damage-deck.

I'm from Germany. Some of my team-mates and I think about to order the core-set at FFG in the USA.

We want to order all core-sets together, because the shipment-costs are very high. But we are unsure, if we will get a damage deck for each core-set if we order the core-sets together. (For example. We order five core-sets in one order. Will we receive also five T-65 X-Wing damage-decks?)

Thank you for your help.

This thread and this link are pretty much what I've got: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2018/5/1/upgrade-your-damage-deck/

With this line from the story I can see why you'd think you'd only get one deck:

Quote

You can pre-order the X-Wing Second Edition Core Set on our website —everyone who pre-orders at least one Core Set for X-Wing Second Edition on the Fantasy Flight Games website will receive a single T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck for free with their order!

But that also leaves open one for each core as well making the Core Set the arbiter of getting the promo damage deck.

You could try e-mailing FFG about it.

Did anyone find out if we receive a promo damage deck *per order* or *per core set*?
