Does Failing an Action Prevent You from Performing its Linked Action?

By TasteTheRainbow, in X-Wing

Title.

I’ve been playing a lot of 2.0 with proxies and the change to failed actions is a lot bigger change than you’d think. To me it is the single biggest change in the game from turn to turn compared to first edition.

But without clarification about failing linked actions(either the first or the second) it’s hard to know if it’s a big impact or basically a completely different game.

Yes failing the first action in the linked action stops the second.

I don't remember where it was said but it was a dev who said it.

When talking about the TIE Aggressor. The TIE Aggressor is unusual in that it only has access to Evade as a linked action from Barrel Roll, not as a standalone action, and they pointed out that that meant if you didn't have the space to barrel roll, you couldn't evade.
