Redirect can spread damage to the shields up to one adjacent hull zone (without advanced projectors or foresight)

You can move as little or as much damage to that hull zone as you like provided there are sufficient shields to take it.

Thanks for replying.

Just seen some games where they split the damage on other side too. For eg, recieived damage on the right hull, uses redirect, then splits the damage on the front and left hull. The left hull is obviously not adjacent to the right hull.

So whats the rule on that?

That’s one of the things Advanced Projectors does, but normally that’s not allowed. You can only redirect to one adjacent hull zone

Thanks for replying.

Ah i see. Appreciate that.

There are currently 2 upgrades that allow this. The Foresight title for MC30s allows players to redirect to both adjacent hull zones at once (adjacent to the targeted hull zone only). Advanced Projectors allows you to redirect damage to any number of hull zones.

One of the major reasons you don't see these two cards often in some settings is a card called X1-7 Turbolasers. This upgrade is a direct counter to Redirect, and prevents the target from redirecting more than one damage total. So Advanced Projectors might be able to redirect some damage to the opposite side of the ship, but with X17s it can only redirect the one point and the rest hits the targeted hull zone.
