You get a ‘free seat’ at Worlds if you finish Top 2. Which for me implies you get guaranteed free entry.

If course in my sleep deprived state I now wonder if I am confusing Nats for NA/Euro on who is getting trips paid for, mans lack the ability to double check on phone

NA and Euro still get free trips.

I can confirm that Nationals champions (for this year) do not get hotel or travel to worlds (only a reserve seat).

But we do get those nice rulers...

It’s a tragic change with the flights. Let’s not even pretend it will be “worlds” next year... just NA championship mk2. Ah well.

They changed the "Icon Dice Crit Icon" to the expected symbol. Presumably if they know about it, they won't be printed that way...

US nats winner will probably get the free flight as Matt did they even paid from Canada (where he is from)

yeah Dras, this article is about, for example, German Nationals. Not about Euros, where you get the free ride if you win, or reserved seat if you make top 4.

I meant, I was reading (what I thought) was XWing Nationals article saying they still got paid tickets. That’s what I meant.

The X-Wing Nationals in their current form are - to my knowledge - disappearing and it seems that the new format for X-Wing Worlds might no longer be co-hosted with all the other Star Wars games. If that's true, it may be sad, but might also spell less of a ticket restriction for Worlds 2019 (and explain why the runner-ups are now offered a reserved ticket as well).

As for travelling to Worlds based on winning a Nationals, I'm not sure it's only about the game, but more about the number of attendees (and about whoever is hosting them). I seem to recall some non-X-Wing National Champions getting their travels reimbursed coming from countries with a larger number of players. Someone know more?

I just find it odd that we know prizes for nationals, but not store championships..
