Here's a thought, many dials got better, the defacto worst dial (Lambda) stayed the same, but that means it's even worse relative to all the other ships.

I think the rear arc helps alot, and something is fun about flying a space cow.

That's why I love YV-666s and G1-As so much ?

That's the idea of the Lambda. It's dial is absolute trash and it gets a huge discount for it.

The 1.0 Lambda paid a mere 21 points for a 3/1/5/5 statline.

If you are buying the conversion set, might as well pick up a Lambda. The prices will go up once they are re-released, so might as well find a cheap resell online.

So, I did end up picking one up for $23. Not a bad price. May play around with some 1.0 ideas to get used to the dial.

I forgot about the coordinate and jam actions being added to it in 2.0. That could open up some decent possibilities.

And then the scurrg came

We can probably safely assume since it still has a horrible dial it will remain super cheap and we now have several crew for support ships OTHER than palp (also, owning palp now doesnt mean much since hes in the conversion kit)

However i imagine the difference between the Lambda and the Reaper will be strictly maneuverability vs durability/rear 2die arc.

Reaper we know in 1.0 atleast is roughly the same cost as the Lambda, maybe a point more, and i dont see why they'd diverse that cost in 2.0 personally. Its not AS durable since it has less life, but its WAY more maneuverable, smaller base, and the pre-move maneuver we know from Strikers means it can almost change its direction on a whim, which can be important.
Lambda is more durable in a vacuum, has a Sensor slot (assuming it didnt get removed), and the rear arc means it doesnt NEED to turn around immediately but it still wants to turn obviously due to no kturns (they really should have given it the uwing ability imo).

Comparing stats/dials alone, i'd say the reaper is the better pick. But i am confident there will be reasons to use the lambda instead.

Yeah, it is safe to say Buzzsaws and Doom Shuttles of the Wave 3 and 4 meta will simply not exist because you can't build them as such anymore. IMHO they will have to be cheaper than X-wing in order to be the gunships they were in 1.0. But their old roll as a palp shuttle can still be used and they have seemed to forgo all combat into a more of a support roll with the high firepower only if they get attacked head on or chased up too close.

One thing worth noting is that the developers have said that certain upgrades cost more or less on certain ships. The Lambda, being a dedicated civilian transport and not a combat ship, could receive a discount on crew upgrade slots, potentially making you favor it over the Reaper which is a combat transport.

This would open up some design space when building lists. Do you take the Lambda and get a discounted Palpatine or other crew, which won't be influencing the board state directly with its primary weapons or do you take the recommended retail price Palpatine in the TIE Reaper and try to leverage as much as you can out of the chassis?

I definitely see the lambda as more of a range bubble crew than the Reaper, owing to the difference between coordinate and jam (+ ailerons)

Lambdas I see happily running around with guys like the Inquisitor, or sensor Cienna, or Sloane etc.
