Meta is dead, long live the Meta

Ah yeah i heard that. Still you can only do the Bonearm trick every 3 turns. Unless your list can kill Han in one turn and is in striking distance when you ionize him, it’s going to be hard.

Or you might just need multiple sources of ion all the time.

Do you really need to kill him in one turn? His defenses will be crap for that round. If you have a decent number of ships you can put some serious damage onto him. One agility that MIGHT have a reroll is enough for 2 attack dice ships.

There is also the idea of setting him up for ordnance strike. Blast away a lot of his hull or even use an Ion Torp to set him up again.

After you cripple him it should be easy to take him down. I mean, it shouldn't be that hard to get a shot on the Falcon, even with Boost. When Ionized it would be a great time to get a cheap blocker in front if the Falcon. That ship can be pretty easy to block if you get a ship with BR in front of it. Even without blocking, you know he will want to be around asteroids and his dial isn't crazy. Every ship gets a BR, even if red. Against one Evade you don't need that much to punch hits through. He's already crippled. A few more rounds and it can't be too hard to kill, especially if he starts taking Crits with no shields.

This version of Fat Han seems so anemic when compared to the old. He can't escape like he used to. His defense is really standard for a large based ship (aka bad). His attacks aren't hitting that hard. I can't wait for people to fly it against me.

I will say that lists of only 3 ships might have a problem, but that's why I'm thinking 4-6 ships will be better in v2.

This is what has me baffled.

if we, the idiots, can see this busted card, why can’t FFG? Well obviously they can, and want it. Fun to fly? Yes? Fluff? Yes! Good for the game? NO. Regardless the price. No 1.0 busted **** in 2.0. Let’s bust it in new ways, not drag corpses with us into nirvana.

Or, given the app can be used to control the slots/costs etc., the Outrider might not even have a Gunner slot. Or they'll just straight up prevent Luke from being able to be equipped to the YT-2400.

I do hope the yt2400 doesn't get it or we're just absolutely ******

But because I have no idea if the yt2400 actually has a gunner, I'm not jumping to conclusions there

But given Luke gunner is from his time in the falcon and has art of him in the falcon...yeah that's guaranteed

I can't wait to see how this turns out :D

Personally, I'm leaning towards it being points inefficient, it's still just one turret. But I've no idea if that'll be true, it may well prove to be OP (plz upd8 app w/nrf).

At the moment, everyone is just placing bets, but this discussion will definitely evolve at some point.

i mean, one turret is all you needed for fat han and fat cheri to be incredibly dominant forces in their time. Super dash too, and if he gets luke in 2.0 he'll arguably be STRONGER than 1.0 dash (no doughnut hole).

not really dreading that, though, unless he's revealed to get a gunner slot

in terms of purely meta competitiveness (rather than "this should not exist because the designers already fixed it"), it's more likely that the fat han will be very competitive than not. I base this on the fact that Luke gunner has to be very expensive to not see immediate, auto-include status. The benefit to always having the shot you want cannot be understated

But he CAN be overpriced into uselessness, and hopefully will be.

If I were a betting man for the 2.0 meta, I'd actually be a little concerned about the potential of fully modded alpha strikes coming back (mainly with Long Range Scanner E-wings and high I force users). Also interested in seeing how gunner Han interacts with ships that have a mobile + primary arc, particularly the Ghost. That could be a problem, depending on how [mobile arc indicator nub] is defined in the rules

edit: doubt it'll be possible, but I'm imagining

Sense + proton torp Luke

two Knaves with proton torps, SatSalvo, possibly FCS and an astro if there's room

that's kinda scary, and Sense Luke provides an easy counter to higher I pilots because it lets higher the boost/roll X or boost/roll E block very well

Nah, the meta is going to be a return of Crack Black swarms backed by Howl and Iden. Once per game, each TIE can cancel one of your green dice while your attacking, and Iden can cancel one of your attacks while defending. Plus, too many bullseye arcs for you to dodge them all.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YOU WILL ALL BURN IN FIRE
