So my brother and I were throwing around some character concepts, and I thought I should share them with you.
The thing is, my brother and I tendo to play brothers / friends in roleplaying games as well. So those concepts were created as duos, partners whatever.
Over our mutual playing years we have found, that encouraging other players to think in duos is very beneficial for the game experence. When two players sit down and create their characters with partly common backstories, they can interact more with the environment and in-game oneliners come more natural.
So if you have any cool ideas for a duo for the game, feel free to share!
So here's our most recent:
Hired Gun - Bodyguard, Retired Clone Trooper
&
Smuggler - Gambler, Padawan Survivor
As I tend to give my players some extra XP specifically to buy a second spec from the start of the game, to diversify their character concept, we went the same route and came up with this couple of characters. The species for the Hired gun is set: Male human. Because yes, he is in fact a clone trooper.
The idea behind these guys is simple: The clone tooper got a head injury during the war, which damaged his control chip. So when the Padawan's master was shot down he instead protected him/her and ran away with the Padawan. Now they are drifting on the edge of society, the clone trooper putting his skills to the best use, protecting his padawan friend, while the padawan uses his/her skills to win at games.
This would give a group a nice brawny character for fighting, as well as the force user pretty much any roleplaying roupe has in STAR WARS. Additionally this couple has a very good dynamic with each other, with the clone trooper prefering entrenching and fortifying his position, a better safe than sorry approach, while the Padawan is more of a risk taker with his gambling attitude and the trust he learrned to put into the force.
We have more, but I want to hear one of yours first.
