Why is the best pilot in Rogue Squadron only a 5 and why doesn't he have Force powers???? Oh and once again a beat up freighter is as maneuverable as a Fighter!!! Falcon/Y wing... but yeah the Corran thing bugs me..lol
Corran only a 5!!!
Looks like most PS8 pilots have been given I5 on the new scale. I think they have reduced the number of I6 too compared to PS9 in 1e (Talonbane is a 5 now).
I don't know why doesn't have force powers, but my guess is the reason is named LFL.

Because 6 is the max. Why is Corran in 1.0 only an 8?

... because then we'd have some random guy from the books slapping around Darth Vader and Wedge in a dogfight.
Not that Corran couldn't hold his own, mind you; it's just that he'd be a bit too good at 6, I think.
Because of balancing and 6 really needs to be special, in the lore he was not as strong as Luke in the force or as good of pilot as Wedge. This is a good thing for game balance, nerfing of all ships and pushing people to play other ships which have not seen much play in the past aka Disney wanting classic movie ships on the table.
You really have to think if playing Corren is better then Luke now and that’s great for the game, because both ships/pilots have something good to offer. T65 with force or double tap e-wing without.
As for why there is not a force ability On him , to quote Incredibles “when everyone is special, no one is special”

I find this doubtful, as all the force upgrades we've seen so far spend force points without giving them - but there's room for one that gives them, I guess.
I'm a little diapoointed with how few Force pilots there are so far, but tbh I can't blame them for being a little careful about it. The E Wing will be able to get lock-focus on the fun in, giving it force as well risks it being super OP.

This is exactly why they changed the stat to “Initiative” rather than Pilot Skill.
It is NOT meant to be a ranking of the “best pilots in the galaxy.” Its simply how quickly they’re able to respond.
Yeah... I’m guessing Corran’s lack of force sensitivity either reflects him pre-awakening. The Force stat seems to reflect conscious efforts to clear one’s mind and “use the force.” Also, if there’s any chance of Corran appearing in canon it’s as a non-force sensitive version of himself (I would guess).
i5 is great. Blame Disney for taking his force powers away.

Edited by KharneteI have no problem with Corran being PS/I5. That's the same as Luke, and just one behind Wedge, Vader, and Fel. In the books, even as late as the NJO, Corran admitted that Wedge can regularly vape him in simulator fights, and Fel was just as good as Wedge.
Lack of Force powers is frustrating though. They gave Ezra the Force, why not the star of freaking I, Jedi ?
Corran should be in an X-wing.

No....
Corran, by his own admission, would regularly get vaped by Wedge and Tycho. No cheating required. Even the opening of Rogue Squadron shows that.
Corran Horn is the worst protagonist in any Star Wars book(s) and not canon. No way a non-canon character will get force powers.
Just be glad he is still in the game...
I want Ooryl instead. He is a much more intriguing character.

They said very few pilots had Initiative 6.

I'm betting probably no more than 2 per faction a priori.
So, Rebels get Wedge and Fenn, Scum get Fenn and Dengar, Imperials get Vader and Fel. Resistance get Poe and FO get Kylo because they're smaller and need room to grow.
