Hopefully they will give him Vader’s old ability since he attacked the inside of the ship in the movie. Nothing beats a good old temper tantrum, usually they grow out of that stage by that height tho.

Im openly aggressive when I'm aggressive. Dash has been a powerhouse since the day he was created, and invalidated huge numbers of list archetypes from serious competitive play. Just because he's not th best ship at any given time doesn't mean he's not been problematic for the game for years.

Only when coupled with other independently powerful ships. Before Sabine/bombs scared them off, high-PS aces wiped the FLOOR with Dash. All he had before that was the 'Super' variant with Kyle Katarn, which couldn't do much against aces. Leaner builds died more quickly because the only other viable crew for him was Recon Spec.
I'm honestly curious: WHAT lists dried up and died when Dash hit the scene? Because the only time he was even remotely considered top-tier was after the Ghost released (again, because Miranda/Sabine/bombs were the new hotness, and he could run LW/Rey,) but has since fallen from grace (again) in the face of Fair Ship Rebels, TLT Ghosts, and the like.

He has caused most traditional jousting lists to die on the vine ever since he was introduced. Swarm players (of any faction) constantly uttered the refrain of "my chances are okay if I don't run into Dash". It was near Phantom levels of hard counter to mid/Low PS based lists. Obviously other things also contribute to low/mid PS doing poorly, but Dash has had the highest effect over the longest time. He definitely has huge weaknesses, but it's just one of the many examples of crappy rock paper scissors game design that has plagued 1.0 over the years.

So how do you feel about him in 2.0? I feel like they did a good job of keeping his power level intact while raising his skill ceiling.

You clearly haven’t flown fcs/optics/autothrusters ps4s. They’re fantastic ships, no ptl needed. Ptl is really only stapled to Kylo. Of course, who knows if optics will come back (probably not in its current form), autothrusters is gone, and fcs is changed. So we’ll see how they go in 2e.
In 1e they’re similar to the defender (with 3 attack, 3 agility, 6 health), but more offensive compared to the x7, and better at arcdodging. Can’t wait to see what they do with the silencer (and SF) for 2e. Outside of defenders, I prefer the fo to the empire.

PSA: So they didn't nerf your least favorite ship enough.
Three things:
1: They nerfed almost everything else more, somehow.
2: They can adjust balance, but will they? Will they?
3: It probably needs it.

Probably okay. I assume Luke will be a default build, but no option for Boost, and default red BR should slow him down quite a bit if the unrevealed EPTs are in line with the revealed ones.
The TIE /sf will probably get a gunner slot, but also have reduced abilities, since the gunner will be taking over those duties.

I see you've never flown the Quickdraw and 2 PS4 Silencer list. The only Silencer that needed PTL was Kylo Ren. The others can do quite well without it.

Yes. Just yes. They gave Y-Wings a gunner slot because they have a gunner in the rear seat. The TIE/sf also has a backseater and should get the same treatment as the Y in 2.0.

I hope you're correct. Right now the Silencer is my favorite ship in the game and I'm hoping that it survives in a playable form in 2.0.

I’m really hoping for some kind of ship ability similar to the incerceptor, though probably not the same thing. Would love to just have sabines ability as a ship ability. Basically advanced sensors for reposition only.

Give me a native 3 attack front arc and I’ll happily trade the rest of ops spec away for a gunner slot. Lets you get the same ability back with veteran tail gunner anyway

Is probably what's gonna happen.
I'm just hoping for 3 agility and some nice linked actions.
Given that front and rear arcs can now have different values (as seen on the unboxing with the Lambda) would not be shocked if 3 front 2 back is the default. You could then bake in spec ops training as an ability, but veteran tail gunner is just that ability anyway more likely the /SF will have either no intrinsic ability, or it's inherent ability mimics something else the ship can do or frequently did, possibly with a slightly lower point scale.
EDIT: Also they could still have "Spec Ops Training" as the ship ability but it does something else.

I took a look at the TIE/Int card from the reveal. I think Autothrusters will be the same on any ship that has it baked into the ship. It's a good bet that the Silencer will have Autothrusters as well.

That depends entirely whether any other cards actually have auto thrusters baked in. So far, we haven't seen any two ships with the exact same ship ability. And we have other ships that had auto thrusters auto included in 1e (a-wing, star viper, brobots, inquisitor's tie, etc) that got other ship abilities instead of the free boost/barrel roll. Including some of those that also had PTL stapled to them, like the high ps a-wings and tie inquisitor did.

It's a lot less npe with the 2e damage deck though. Blind no longer stops you shooting entirely, and Damaged Cockpit I believe just plain doesn't exist.
But a new ability would be good nonetheless. Isytds is just fiddly.
