Regenerating Charges/Force Abilities

First off it goes without saying that I wasn't available for the full live stream, but I do have a question. For ships such as DENGAR with a single charge, or the Emperor/Vader/Inquisitor with a single force ability, how do they get more? You have some missiles/torps/bombs with a set number of charges that you need to reinforce, but what about the other stuff. Am I missing something, or are people willing to pay such a premium for a single 2nd attack with Dengar pilot?

The little arrow next to the Charge or Force indicates it regains a charge at the end of the turn. Dengar's charge comes back every turn, and Force users regenerate 1 Force each turn.

On the stream today they clarified one more element. A ship with however many Force wielding crew cards still only regenerates one Force token per turn.

Yep. However, the numbers stack. A ship with a Force rating of 3 and two +1 crew members would have a starting pool of 5, but would still only regen 1 per round.

It also sounds like Force users will cost a great deal more than generics, and will receive Force Talent slots instead of Elite Talent slots.. They specifically highlighted the Advanced Prototype, where the two generics have the same Initiative of 3. However, the Inquisitors have a Force rating, while the Barons of the Empire will not. The Inquisitors apparently have a higher cost to compensate.

They also mentioned Dark Force Talents.

Some force users definitely get both slots.

Force ratings are really, really good. Double mods are a lot rarer than they used to be, and force users can all get double mods.

Can I ask where you got this tidbit? I’ve spent some time scouring and haven’t found any evidence. Seems to me someone like Luke or Vader may not have access to “normal” Talents. I can’t decide whether I want you to be correct or not.

Look at Maul:

You should be able to equip him on Ezra in the attack Shuttle or Sheathipede, thus allowing Ezra to equip a Dark Side upgrade. What remains to be seen if that is an additional dark side talent on top of another force talent.

Thanks! I suspect Ezra gets acces to Force Talents from both the Light and Dark Sides with Maul around. But I don’t know if Ezra and the other Force users can equip non-Force using ol’ fashioned Talents.

So... is the something that indicates Ezra has to be capable of taking a regular talent?

Pretty sure as a force user ezra will have the force upgrade slot and not the regular talent slot.

not 100% sure on that but they have said force users have the force slot and not the regular talent slot but that does not mean some don't have both now or in the future, we won't know until release.

That’s what the last 6-8 posts have been discussing. JoJo is saying the maul card somehow shows that at least some force users have both slots.

I think several people are talking past each past each other here and not actually understanding what others are saying

I'm thinking that force talents will have generic ones, like Sense and then be broken down further into light side upgrades and dark side upgrades.

My guess is Maul allows Ezra to take either, but probably not both.

If Vader doesn’t have an EPT and a Force Talent (FT?) then nobody will.

Oh I thought you meant regular force talents, as opposed to dark side like maul

Yeah no word on normal pilot talents. Actually doubt you could take em since force provides mods as is

I doubt it too, but a couple people in this thread are suggesting there will be pilots who can take both. We’ve been trying to get them to explain why they think that.

So poor Dace can use his already bad ability once every 3 turns at best? Man, they really do not like Dace for some reason.

This is correct. He needs three charges and regenerates one charge per turn (indicated by the triangle beside the charge number)

I think they did not want easy perma ion of the larger ships, therefore only every now and then

Then leave his ability as damage? I mean, unless Ion has changed drastically?

1 for small ships, 2 for medium, 3 for large. It locks you into 1-straight Blue maneuver, and the only action you can take afterwards is a Focus.

Yes, that was said somewhere.

How the tokens are getting assigned is a bit different though. An ion cannon potentially does 1 point of damage and assigns zero to three (or more?) ion tokens with one shot if the attack rolls good enough.
