The missing factor: points!

This is probably the only thing that urks me about having the costs in the app and have it varied potentially depending on the ship.

Unless they update the app well ahead of release, we wont have any idea how good an upgrade (or pilot for that matter) could be until its released.

I'm going to be very curious to see how they price out Crackshot, Marksmanship and Predator. All three EPTs do very similar things (improve shots against targets within your Bullseye arc), so it'll be interesting to see how they differentiate them in price.

No, I speak for the greater good. Limited formats are awesome, and restricted options are challenging and skill-intensive.

Limited formats are cool and all, but without the app, quick builds are pretty much the only format.

If it's the only format can you call it limited?

Yes i would definitely still call that limited.

too limited but limited nontheless.

Limited just means you cant use literally anything available. If its quickbuild cards only, uber limited gameplay (which i really dont see kicking off at all)

I'd be happy for Quick Build tournaments (likewise somewhat draft-based ones, where the ships you can pull from are somewhat randomized). However, while it is the more skill-intensive format, I don't always want the game to be a test of pure skill. That's not what I'm interested in when I show up to the FLGS on a Tuesday night, often looking to fly more oddball stuff.

That said, if they spoil all the cards and quick builds (I'm presuming they'll be in the Conversion Kits) in the next few weeks, well, that'd be great. We can play 2E with the new rules as a sort of open beta, but once the product actually hits, once folks have paid money for it... there better ****ing be points.
