Amos is great of course, one of the best sci fi tough guys ever. Some of his backstory really makes you feel for the guy. I like James and Naomi the best from the books. The TV changes to Naomi made her a much worse character unfortunately. They are trying to reference things from her backstory that don't get fleshed out until like the fifth book. Her really shady history with the OPA to not put too fine a point on it. Anyway, despite that disappointment, still a great show.

Oh yeah, the actor. Adam Driver as Matt the Radar Technician. Sympathy cards for losers optional but appreciated.

FWIW, it's only sort of cancelled. You could say...'from a certain point of view' it was cancelled.

SyFy wasn't producing it, they were just buying it, and their contract apparently was for 3 seasons to be renewed based on live viewing numbers. Unfortunately, the Expanse was doing poorly there, as everyone watching it did so next-day on the website or via Amazon Prime (IE., digital downloads) which didn't count. So SyFy didn't renew for a 4th season, but Alcon (who is producing it) can now shop it around to other spots. Here's hoping Netflix or Amazon picks it up!

(Of course, I've frequently mentioned how much the show has the feel of what Babylon 5 tried to do for action-and-political-intrigue-in-space, which makes being cancelled early...ironically appropriate)
