What I am referencing is not to be confused with a cannon - a large gun, but ships that line up with onscreen or other published media.
Currently, we have a number of ships that don't exactly follow canon sources.
Some examples are:
The TIE Striker having bombs.
The TIE Bomber has another crew station.
TIE Silencer had missiles
Apparently the TIE/sf really moves..
U-wing lower cockpit window (by pilots feet) non-existant
These are the ones off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are others. Some issues are visual (or mechanical) such as the fangs wings which the developers didn't know about when designing it.
I bring these up because 2.0 has the ability to fix all these. A TIE bomber could get a gunner slot, as well as the TIE/sf. It also has the ability to fix these issues on the fly. With the TIE Striker, the bombs weren't revealed till after FFG had built it. With the App and removal of icons from the cards, we may very well get canon upgrades to several ships.
If FFG also gets something wrong, they may even be able to fix it easily. This will make for a more immersive game. While many will say that gameplay > fluff, why not have a game that is gameplay = fluff? I think 2.0 is a step towards that.
What are your thoughts on this issue? Any other examples, from the current canon, not legends, you can think of where a ship is flawed or doesn't line up with the fiction?
