My take on a Reeikan Aces

By grunnax93, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I am normally flying my Dodonna Boming Carrier Fleet which involves an MC80, Nebulon-B, Two GR75s, Jan Ors, Ten Numb, Two YT1300, Nym and Three Scurrg H-6 Bombers. I figured I would try my hand at a Reeikan Aces build, thoughts on it?

Name: Rieekan Aces
Faction: Rebel
Commander: General Rieekan

Assault: Precision Strike
Defense: Fighter Ambush
Navigation: Superior Positions

MC75 Armored Cruiser (104)
• General Rieekan (30)
• Adar Tallon (10)
• Flight Controllers (6)
• Boosted Comms (4)
= 154 Points

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57)
• Flight Commander (3)
• Yavaris (5)
= 65 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)
• Bomber Command Center (8)
= 26 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)
• Comms Net (2)
= 20 Points

Squadrons:
• Dutch Vander (16)
• Wedge Antilles (19)
• Ten Numb (19)
• Jan Ors (19)
• Shara Bey (17)
• Luke Skywalker (20)
• Nym (21)
= 131 Points

Total Points: 396

I like it, especially with Flight Controllers. Any way you could fit Toryn Farr in there? Is Flight Commander still good on Yavaris (usually paired with FCT before the FAQ)? Lastly, unless she’ll be operating alone, is Shara a good fit for this list? I feel her (amazing) special ability could be wasted if your opponent can just attack other aces.

Good point on Shara, I just figured she will work well as being fast and used for initial lock up on enemy squadrons as a lone wolf, but not sure...

I would like Toryn as it makes Nym and Ten Numb just absolute BS with Yavaris. As for Flight Commanders, aslong as you dont have FCT on Yavaris it is all good, FC is still a stronger choice than FCT imo, due to being able to keep Yavaris relatively out of harms way until it is required to bring the fighter/bomber nuke. I usual take a Nav Token on Yavaris turn 1 and at speed 2 and comms net it a squadron on turn 1, keep it with the Cruiser and then use the nav token to get the move range at speed 3 when the strike is needed.

Maybe swap Shara for Corran Horn and Luke for Gold Squadron, then Bright Hope on the BCC GR75? Corran will give a way to deal with Counter Ships.

So, I have tested Rieekan Aces, my first game i ended up swapping shara and luke for corran and gold squadron.

Second game I swapped MC75 for MC80, I was missing having FCT for the Yavaris. For my play style, Flight Controllers cant replace FCT when running Yavaris.

So I am currently settling on this.

Name: Rieekan Aces

Defense: Fighter Ambush
Navigation: Superior Positions

MC80 Command Cruiser (106)
• General Rieekan (30)
• Adar Tallon (10)
• Fighter Coordination Team (3)
• Boosted Comms (4)
= 153 Points

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57)
• Flight Commander (3)
• Yavaris (5)
= 65 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)
• Bomber Command Center (8)
• Bright Hope (2)
= 28 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)
• Comms Net (2)
= 20 Points

Squadrons:
• Dutch Vander (16)
• Wedge Antilles (19)
• Ten Numb (19)
• Jan Ors (19)
• Corran Horn (22)
• Gold Squadron (12)
• Nym (21)
= 128 Points

Total Points: 394

Both games with both fleets, never lost a ship or squadron, completely tabled.

Corran is always a good choice. My buddy likes to run lists that have a Dengar counter-ball of Imperial Aces and I have been wanting to just fling Corran and an E-Wing swarm at them (with BCC for the post-squadron fight).
