REGIONALS!
Those templates look amazing, but I have my sights set on the Rune tokens. If I could just make Top 4, I'd be thrilled. I dare not even hope for Top 2 because we have so many good players, but I'll give it my all!
I'm going to try and make it to the Spokane regional.
NOOOOOOO!!! My nearest regional is on the day I fly back from my next work trip. Fate, why are you so cruel!!!!
Ive got a 4.5 hour drive to one and a 5 your drive to the other.
I’m gonna get me some of those rulers.
I have to laugh some at the top prize.
QuoteAdditionally, the Regional Champion will hasten his or her march to the next battlefield with a National Championship bye card worth a first-round bye at a 2018 or 2019 Runewars Miniatures Game National Championship.
Out of 11 events, only two take place before Nationals 2018. Whoever wins the rest of the regionals is going to have to hold onto the card for an entire year.
Beat me to it, DekoPuma. /facepalm
Still, 11 Regionals are probably more than some expected. And 3 in Texas and 2 in SoCal give me hope that there are good, thriving communities there that the rest of us just aren't seeing locally, which is a good sign for the game for any doom & gloomers.
I'll be making my way out to Indy. I'd sure love to land the Rune tokens.
I can make one regional, thanks to lots of travel this summer. The travel is so worth it though.

Unfortunately, 2 of those 3 in Texas are right outside Houston, so we've got two regionals in Houston and one in San Antonio.

I admire your dedication. I don't think I can justify a 5.5 hour drive to the only regional in my state that I'll be in town for. I hope you win those rulers!
I suppose that's the consolation -- I'd probably bottom out anyway and wouldn't get any of those prizes, so I'm not missing out on too much.

Eh. I don’t have kids and won’t be going alone. It’s not too bad at all then
I would drive to anyone with in 12 hours come on Arizona, Nevada, Utah etc. Get on it. Atleast I have 2 close.
So no venues announced for Nationals within Europe and now no venues announced for Regional events within Europe which starts next month. .
I'm starting to get the impression that this is a US only game.

It is starting to feel that way.

There are obviously some European players -- I see painting posts from them in Facebook groups, and there's the UK Worlds winner. So if pin it on one of two things: some problem with FFG's store relationships for OP and localization, or the Euro players I've seen are playing at home or just painting and haven't gotten their store involved in hosting events and building communities to make then want to/able to apply to run a regional.
Hopefully, both options can be fixed with time and attention. I totally get it, though.

I am from Ireland, not the UK.
But.... yeah the US vs Europe thing seems tragic in this game, where the Continentals got actively de-scoped to not include Europe, and generally there seem to be few events around. For Nationals, it seems that the UK ones will be at the ICC on August 24-26th, but I have not seen a specific date yet.

I play X wing and Armada as well as Rune Wars and I can safely say that all of FFG main flag ship products already have their store, regional, European and National events lined up or the stores know about them and are actively generating interest. When it comes to Rune Wars however, stores get no information, which in turn filters down to the players which eventually turn up with other games. This then stops the stores from stocking it because as you have put, it just seems like a lack of interest/involvement from the community, which is far from the truth.
Rune Wars just wasn't pushed at all in the UK. Legion however had store release events, exclusive stuff for just demo'ing a game, more if you bought in and then even more if you turned up the week after and proved you still played it. Rune Wars got a starter set . . . then delayed expansions.
I appreciate that Star Wars is a bigger IP but surely FFG should be making more effort to push their own original IP, not just exclude the rest of the world? I'm hoping this is just a mistake by Organised Play. It wouldn't be the first time. I mean, we are currently playing Store Championship events with no prizes because they haven't been sent out yet but at least we know about them and can play the game.

I was really surprised that nothing was scheduled in Wisconsin, I would have thought Madison for sure!

Basically, I didn’t get off my *** and harp on the two stores in Madison that support Runewars to put in for regionals. If I had, I’d probably be running one.
Edited by Church14So the densly populated east coast has a whopping two locations, both 4+ hours away from where I am in the Philadelphia region. *sigh* I think my Daqan and Waiqar are headed to eBay soon.
Im looking forward too see what locations in europe will get regionals

The European Regionals are being held in East Coast USA ?

I beg your pardon, my mistake. It was made out of ignorance (faulty third-hand information or memory), not malice, and I'm aware of the difference and reasons to differentiate.

Oh my. One of my closest FLGS is holding a Runewars Regional (Common Ground in Stirling)
