This is NOT a 2.0 complaint thread. I love 2.0 and am super looking forward to it.

Just wondering something.

This awesome thread here pointed out a few pilots whose art now belongs to another pilot, and thus might not be in 2.0:

On the list of pilots who that happened to are Dark Curse and Backstabber. Those pilots also happen to be two of the various TIE Fighters who show up at the battle of Yavin.

So my question is this: have those two TIE Fighters been recanonized as someone else? Are there names for these two pilots in the new universe?

Just wondering. It seems like there should be some sort of presence in the game of all the TIEs at Yavin (although I'm equally ok playing with Backstabber as a Black Squadron Pilot with Outmaneuver and Dark Curse as one with Crackshot).

I think they were replaced by the Battlegrounds 2 characters and Valen because those characters are part of the new canon games and shows. Stabber and Curse, while I loved them in 1.0, are from a weaker line of fluff. Gundark is likely gone too.

Edit: And we still don't know what's happening with Youngster, Wampa, and Chaser.

I'd imagine we'd see Backstabber because Mauler exists and they're ot folk

No earthly clue what Rudor is doing in the trench, unless he's been retconned to be Backstabber

Yeah, but I think Inferno Squadron feels fresher and more relevant to FFG. We're left with 1 named Black Squadron Pilot, Mauler, and 1 named Obsidian pilot, Night Beast, to go with their respective leaders Vader and Howl so it kind of feels appropriate.

We need a petition to save our beloved named Tie Fighter pilots....

This is where things get weird with 2.0. I almost would have preferred they have different pilots in the conversion kit and the new expansions to increase the size of the pilot pool, but people would lose their minds if FFG releases conversion kits and still told you you needed to buy the new expansions too.

Unless the pilots are different in the expansions and conversion kit and I don’t know what I’m talking about?

Also, excluding Backstabber (or at least his ability) seems odd. I guess his ability could go to one of the couple named pilots we know of that we don’t know their ability yet, but stabbers old ability would fit very well under 2.0 with the updated bases.

Yeah, we'll refuse to convert to 2.0 unless we get the "missing" pilots that we're not sure are missing! We should learn more on Friday with the unboxing.
