Chain Damage in 2.0

So, something I noticed about the 2.0 damage deck. If your ship has a Hull Breach, which says "Before you would suffer 1 or more [hit] damage, suffer that much [crit] damage instead." Then say your ship gets another hit, and the Hull Breach converts it to a crit, and it turns out to be a Direct Hit. Now with the new Direct Hit damage card, it says "Suffer 1 [hit] damage. Then repair this card."

I'm pretty sure then that Hull Breach would convert the additional hit from Direct hit to another crit, which then might turn out to be, another direct hit, and another, and another.

It seems highly unlikely, but I can imagine some poor Y Wing lighting up like a roman candle.

Isn't that what happened to the Resistance bombers in TLJ?

Only 5. Plus I think some other cards that have a chance to do damage, but still enough to be hilarious to some poor sucker.

Yes, this could absolutely happen.

New Direct Hits and Fuel Leaks are WAY worse than the old Direct Hit.

Maaaan I really hope Rexler Brath is in this game with his old ability fully intact.

Not to mention if you have two crits to deal with and the first is Fuel Leak, the second will trigger the Fuel Leak.

Overall I think the new deck is much better though, mainly because you can fix the crits with actions instead of rolling a stupid die.

oof. yeah between fuel leaks and Console fires, it could be a bad day for the Decimator or Falcon.

The damage deck is a lot crueler than the old, but a ton of ships have seen an increase in hull, so it is all good.

That is my single biggest hope. No one bothered using him much before, so hopefully no one thought to need him. He's my single most favorite pilot in this game.

On one hand this damage change potential is horrendous (also i hope they mention any crits drawn during the attack do not go into effect until all damage is done, otherwise Fuel Leak can trigger in the same attack) but atleast we lack any of this "i drew that 1 card. Now my ship is useless..." crap

The most annoying and NPE aspect of damage cards seem to be gone, but I do like that a combination of the right (wrong?) crits can chain react to destroy a ship on a ‘lucky shot’. Being critically damaged SHOULD be scary.

There are a lot more low hull imperial than scum, this will effect them the most. This damage deck shows their intent to not have fully modded shots very often. They break that pact and the empire is in trouble again. This is a game of dice rolling and against what fickle and others have wanted it needs to be that, luck should be at least a strong factor. Where skill comes in is you manipulate the odds by getting more shots or avoiding getting shot at all. This I got you in my sites off a single good move now I’m throwing 4-5 hits at you was bull, always was, and I truly hope they’ve learned that.

We worked this out in the damage deck thread. 3 damage could conceivably chain into 11 damage cards

While there arent as many mods in general, theres a few hit>crit mods so far atleast.

Like i said before, i just hope crits caused in an attack cannot trigger off suffered damage in THAT attack, since you resolve them 1by1 technically if you draw something off the 1st crit that does something on a crit, the next crit triggers it.
None of them have the "Next round" clause anymore.

This was also possible in 1.0 with Major Explosion into Major Explosion into Direct Hit. I’ve actually had that happen to me once.
