As long as they provide my Lion the proper counter card this time, its fine even if it is Scorpion.

Something like, Action: Discard a Dishonor token from any Character in play.

Like the Pure Land Ethos?

Watch it be the Scorpion Clan pack.

I think this is actually on the money.

The phrasing could also be a deliberate misdirect completely and whatever pack is coming next has nothing to do with the phrasing of the quote. Alternatively, the bit about the shadows and lying beyond could be a reference to what the clan featured in the pack is actively fighting against, so dragon (maybe crab, but eewwww).

You don't need a shadowlands faction until Hantei XXXIX is revealed to be possessed by Fu Leng.

IF this happens. Now, I'm not saying it won't (!); I just wouldn't want anyone reading to assume that this particular story point is a "done deal", which the certainty with which you say it seems to imply.

Based on careful analysis of the spacing (IE a few of us looking at it for 30 seconds), What it does it has to be pretty short, so Honor, Dishonor, Bow, or Ready makes the most sense.

I’d say we can only see the cost, and not the actual effect:

Reaction: when you play an Air card during a conflict, choose a non-unique participating character - [here goes the effect]

So I don’t know about the short effect, it can be something like, four lines long.

It was pointed out that we don't see the top of any text under participating, and the spacing under it looks like it is enough that we should see the tops of letters.

Look at those specific punctuation and exclamation marks, as well as the parentheses, and the order they are put.

Well, that’s it, guys. War against Shadow confirmed.

Well, good enough for me.

Now then, where do I sign? ?

Does this mean an Elderly Togashi Satsu time travels from the previous time line, and alters the past by talking to himself?

Yes...because way over-intense scrutiny and analysis of things like punctuation will always reveal the truth... :)

Ok, what I should have said is that we don't need a shadowlands faction unless Hantei XXXIX (or someone else) is possessed by Fu Leng.

Might not even need that. I was rereading some of the clan fictions from release, and I realized that Yokuni doesn't plan to stop the "wave" that's going to cause the wasteland...he wants that wasteland/barren plain to expose the "enemy" whoever that might be. What if Dragon's plan involves aiding the Shadowlands to breach the wall and devastate the empire in order to flush out whatever enemy Yokuni hopes to stop?

I think that the Wave (“curling overhead like a scorpion’s tail”) is the Scorpion Clan Coup, and the devastation it’ll wrought to Otosan Uchi.

And Yokuni will let it happen (maybe side with the Scorpion), because the bigger threat he saw was Fu Leng and the Second Day of Thunder.

Well you won't tell us anything else! Because you like working!

Your use of ellipses implies that the Unicorn clan is going to be attacked by the Lion.

Didn't that technically already happen? I mean it's just one village, but still.

That just proves him right!!!

Why they do the same stupid thing? Again part of the cicle is not legal for tournament. Its how FFG hold the leash for the storyline?.

Its like in MtG 2 or 3 colours have all the cards and the rest only half or not the good ones.

There will always be a tournament that some part of "the next cycle" that is not playable in.

There will always be a hierarchy of decks that range from best to worst and where a clan lands on that spectrum will vary throughout the lifespan of the game. No CCG/LCG has perfect balance 100% of the time.

Realy, why again this 6 in 6 ****? Was ok at starting the game, but in the end you killed the game with it... and now again....

i don't understand the issues with six packs in six weeks . looks like we will only every get 6 or 12 packs at mostpacks every year anyway its costs exactly the same amount of mooney per year people just need to plan their expenditure

Well, it does mean that people who have to spread their spending out will be at a disadvantage against people who don't have to.

I don't have a real problem with 6x6, but it does mean there's a long content drought, and we haven't really seen extra fiction incoming to help pace the gaps.

yeah for my group the biggest downside is the months between releases

I just had a terrible thought. What if this surprise announcement for May 30th is just to let us know they're finally making the L5R clan card sleeves? I mean don't get me wrong, card sleeves are great. I guess.

FFG would be pretty moronic If they would anounce sleeves like that.

Yeah, I never said it was a rational thought. ?
