Pure speculation, but the 2.0 expansion pack says “BTL-A4 Y-Wing”, just as the classic X-Wing is specifically labeled “T-65”. This might hint at a separate different variant incoming, possibly an older model (maybe with the original paneling), or even a Resistance era one.

Or I’m tilting at windmills. Wouldn’t be my first time.

Think it's just leaving the option open.... They learnt with the T-65 that it's best not limit things you never know what you need in the future.

Mostly it's just future proofing, I think - they've learned the lesson from the T65 being called just 'x wing' in 1e making it difficult to buff the x wing but not the t70.

Also so the expansion pack has a different name. It's listed and sold as "BTL-A4 Y-wing" not "Y-wing 2nd Edition."

Especially with possibilities of at least three x-wings - T65, T70, and maybe the T85

Already got my BLT-B Y-Wing, but here's hoping they release an official version.

I know we all have different tastes .. I like the classic ANH Y-wing best. I'd be happy with a re-sculpt of that ..

.. then again, I wouldn't be happy because I'd have to buy on or two.

I'm the perfect little consumer. Buy the shiny thing and then dwell in my consumer remorse until the next shiny thing comes along to fill my hollow void.

Hrm, if it has the gunner and turret slot, it really should actually be the BTL-S3, the usual designation for the two-seater. The -A4 is the model where the ion cannons are fixed front and there's no backseater. But BTL-A4 is also more iconic, I guess, that's the model from ANH.

I was wondering about that. I would like a modification/title/configuration to turn it into the other variant, but it’s weird they’d get the names the wrong way round.

I love how the turret went from being almost just painted on and implied to this weirdly over-sized (looking) cannon on top (because the plastic has to be thick enough, I suppose).

Loving the new sculpt, though... I think that's my REAL problem with 2.0, I want to replace more than I need to because the new stuff is so lovely...

Ugh. I have 4 Fang Fighters. But the new ones have rotating foils/wings!!!

There's no way I get fewer than 2 of the new ones.
