When do you think they'll launch it? During the unboxing? When wave 14 drops? During GenCon? At the launch of 2.0?
FFG's app
The more important question is how much will it cost?!?!

They've stated the app is free

There is a surprising misinformation campaign being put on by a few people who are angry about the conversion process.
Edited by IcelomI’m guessing closer to 2.0’s release.
I’m hoping before hand so we can play around with it to get use to it before the game comes out.
My bet is that it comes out between Wave 14 release and Gen Con. They will want the app out before Gen Con so those that purchase at Gen Con will be able to play AT Gen Con.
I hope by gencon, not only so we can play around with it and learn more, but also so they have the time to work out any bugs before 2.0 goes live. (I'm sure they have tested it a bunch, but on how many devices?)

Alex Davy’s 4 year old laptop, marks Nokia, Franks IPad, the interns galaxy 5, the janitors Alexa, and one paper copy from the break room printer.
Good news is the Dev who is building the app is the same guy who successfully put doom on a TI-83 calculator, so I’m pretty sure he can port a squad builder to anything.
(okay I seriously have no idea, but it’s a squad builder, which is(at least I hope) basically a fancy formatted text document. I would imagine it should be able to run on anything they want to support, really. And if not, there’s always the internet pdf option).

Probably just before 2.0 release in Sept. They only get one chance to make a good impression, and there is no reason for them to release it before 2.0, so they'll probably take their time with it.
If the app doesn’t have an output format it is going to make it annoying to continue List Juggler. FFG didn’t give the xwing open source any comms or heads up so -shrugs-

Yah. Here’s hoping for an easily consumable output format...

You could also play at gen con using quick build cards...

I hope that there will be a way
I am not trying to make any misinformation campaign, I am just trying to be the voice of reason... there are some apps in the gaming world which are free but the content is paid. Hopefully, this is not the case. It would be great if it would be 100% free.

I'm not trying to spread misinformation, but there is a chance that due to quantum tunneling, you will fall through the floor of an aircraft, and you plummet to your death.
Hey, I'm just trying to be the voice of reason. It's factually true, so I'm definitely not doing this to perpetuate a vicious cycle of outrage on the forums, even though we have it on good authority that it will not happen.
Version 1.0 of the App is free, but once you come to enjoy using it they will upgrade to 2.0, which will have a cost per faction charge.

Do we? That's good news for me.
You still get me wrong. Nevemind then, you see hate, where hate is not. Creating negativity in the process.

Iceholm and a few other people have been accusing others of lying if he doesnt like what you have to say (myself included). when presentented with evidence he just doubles down and keeps saying its "misinformation", even when its a person stating their opinion or someone posting verifiable math for others to double check. its pretty awful.
i wouldnt let him get to you

You seriously see no difference between app containing balance info about already designed cards and designing the whole game basically from the scratch, rebalancing every single ship and mechanic in the game and relasing massive boxes containing each over 250 cards and more cardboard than you'll ever use?

And be able to make more lists then one could possibly use in a lifetime.
