Immobilize Token

By bllaw, in Star Wars: Legion

So looking through the Boba Fett article, when I saw his special "Whipcord Launcher" command card, I wondered what the whole immobilize token does. Other than boba being able to leave an engagement while someone has the token what other effect would it have? the article says something about it making luke exposed to an attack but what will it really do?

Well the token in the article is the same shape as an Ion token. So maybe just ion for people? Lose 1 action for each Immobilize token on your unit. Remove after activation.

Will be a brutal counter to Son of Skywalker if you can win the roll off.

The name 'immobilize' suggests some sort of movement restriction. Troopers already get action reduction via suppression so doubt they will double up on that.

Well there is Blast and Sharpshooter which kinda double up aswell (apart from some cases)

I would guess Immobilize Tokens work like the Jam-Action in X-wing. When a unit with Immobilize Tokens issues a movement-Action, it fails and one Immobilize Token is discarded.
So in someways it's worse than supression tokens, since you don't loose an action per se (you could still aim and shoot for example) but it might come with the benefit, that the unit wont loose Immobilize Tokens at the end of each round (like with Ion-Tokens). Also it's important to notice that there are many ways to get rid of supression tokens (commandcards, inspire X, etc.) but not so many for Immobilize Tokens (The unit can only get rid of them by issuing move-actions)

So all in all it could be a different kind of action restriction with other benefits and weaknesses then suppression.

Think that Immobilize will only work on Commanders and Operatives? Is it logical that a whipcord could work on a unit of 6 Stormtroopers, as an example?

I don't know what twisted reality you live in but if one of my boys get caught in a teeny, tiny net me and the gang don't just write him off for dead and crack on with our day, we gonna get our boy back on his feet and seek us out some holy revenge!!

TL:DR - it's perfect feisable that one guy in a squad getting trapped would delay the remainder whilst they free him

Hahahaha.

When you put it like that... I humbly stand corrected!

Maybe, depends on how far away he is.

Charge gives free melee which gives free follow up on SoS.

If, of course, it works the way we're projecting

While it's not a whipcord, the Ewok net trap did work on the 5 Rebel leads...

Now I'm convinced the first Rebel Operative will actually be Wicket W. Warrick and he will also have an Immobilize attack. :D
