So what's next?

By Hawkstrike, in Star Wars: Legion

Yeah, Chewbacca seems like a sure bet! His Bowcaster is going to be mean. Hopefully range 1-4

Anyways, I think Krennic and Deathtroopers will be a must. Rebels have a lot of heroes/operatives to choose from (Rebels, etc.).

How would melee units work??? A bunch of Wooks with Vibroblades would get suppressed and shot to bits, same with Royal Guards, before engaging. One thing Legion does a good job illustrating is running out in the open during a fire fight is a bad idea . . . (though that is what droids and clones seem to do in the Clone Wars lol).

Wooks would have to be 4 minis, 2 HP per mins, 2 courage, speed 2, with Luke's charge ability. Roll something like 2 black dice with crit conversion per wookiee. Or! Give them an ability called like "Wookiee Courage" or "Frenzy" or something, and they roll RED dice during their rally step. ThaT could be kind of cool.

Or, "Frenzy" could let them engage in melee within range 1 or something.

"melee" unit may be able to remove a suppression token at beginning of turn for free or ignore one suppression, so they would need two to lose an action

Will introduce a new die type, you think?

Wouldn't be surprised if they did.

In the same way that the white weapon dice is the worst and the red weapon dice is currently the best, the black weapon dice is the one in the middle.

So Black defence dice should be an average defence die to sit in between the horrible white die and the good red die.

But there is no gap between the white and red dice

White Dice: 1 Defense, 1 Surge

Red Dice: 3 Defense, 1 Surge

So Black would be 2 Defense, 1 Surge

Absolutely no point to it.
White no surge is a 6+
White with surge is a 5+
Red no surge is 4+
Red with surge is 3+

A black dice would do the same.

For defence, the surge system is only a soft, visual way to apply armour saves like in 40K instead of numbers.

Could be cool if Chewbacca had both a normal shot, and a charged supershot he had to ready to use again. Most of the old PC games gave you that option to supercharge the bowcaster for a more powerfull shot, but it took time.

I’m inclined to say Wookiee’s could have a crazy high courage threshold. 4? 5?

Thematically, we have Wookie life debts. We have a race that was enslaved by the empire. They fought for the republic in the clone wars and had them turn against them and treat them like animals. They’re also huge.

I could see a hugh courage value unit being paralleled with death troopers for the empire.

One thing for sure is the wookie will be able to clamber without problems. They are natural born climbers.

Chewbecca is a sure shot for first rebel operative. And a wookie team (support) is an easy bet...

Empire will see small vehicles. My bet is on the Hovertank. Rebels need to get speederbikes (but maybe not) . Hoth troopers what may have different from normal troopers?

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Rebel Jetpack Troopers as a sort of ‘rebel requivalent’ of speeders.

Hi everyone! New player here. I'd like to see Task Force 99 from the Star Wars line of Comics make an appearance in this game.

After seeing an awesome Gand over on facebook I'd love to see a Squad of Gand Findsmen as a neutral Spec ops choice.

I'm thinking a relatively generic unit that's cheaper than average (so maybe white Attack and Defense, no surges, but only 36 points) with no generic troop upgrade slots, but with red close combat dice, Rang 1-4 weapons, some weird special weapon upgrades, Bounty and Scout 2 and the ability to take the Hunter upgrade card.

My thought is that Gand aren't know for being super tough or vicious (so white dice), but they are extremely persistent (Scout 2). Once they chose a target they'll follow it across the galaxy and never give up (Bounty), and they always know where their target is (Hunter). They operate in small groups (so no extra troops) and tend to use long range weapons.

I can imagine Hoth troopers being the mirror to snow troopers (surprise, surprise). Environmental gear might either be built in (like the snow troopers' movement of one) or it comes as an upgrade. Im guessing similar if not the same attack to normal rebel troopers.

Snow troopers have steady which is great for getting them (slowly) to objectives with being able to aim/dodge or move, move, then shoot. I can see Hoth troopers having the mirror to that in which they get an ability that activates when in cover, or maybe if they dont move that turn, they get a free dodge token... so their action economy could be aim token, shoot, dodge token. Which is great for holding objectives.

We see them entrenched during the battle of Hoth so it would thematically make sense that they'd do better when not moving.
