Remember the Cant (SF Cancels the show)

The s3 finale was so good. Some jackass at Syfy saw THAT and decided to cancel the show? Unbelievable.

1) Assume it's the same person who passed on firefly and sent it over to Fox to die in their "churn and burn" business model.

2) Imagine that when jerks leave shopping carts in the parking lot and they roll into cars, that the cars damaged are owned by the syfy person who made those decisions.

3) Sleep soundly.

...And dream about a well-done, high production value UNN vs MRCN fleet combat game.

The models are even already out there (example full-colour 3d prints from shapeways):

I think tablets would be the way to go for that, especially since the actual ship controls are mostly on screens.

and that one good rail-gun or nuke can pretty much end a ship. Plus planets shooting planet busters and hybrid pods at each other so a bit of M.A.D. strategy there like DEFCON.

True, but 'damage' becomes a matter of overloading point defences. Big ships can take the odd railgun hit but then CQB is like melee in Bolt Action; if you get there, you're expecting a lot of people to be dead in the next round.
