Sad times to those who love Sci Fi...
Well the end of book 3 is at least a pretty good stopping point. I hope netflix or amazon pick it up. They already owned part of the distribution rights.
I hope so. Pray for it
Huh, I was hoping they’d keep it going a bit. Both the books and show are entertaining to read/watch.
Don't expect more than 4 seasons on Syfy.

We didn't even make it to 4

They might start book 3 but they aren't even finished book 2 yet in the show.

Episode titles suggest they will finish book 3 this season. Also the authors said it was a great end if it had to be the end.

Maybe, I guess if they cut enough stuff out 8 episodes might be enough with some substantial time skip. I don't see a way they could end this show well in only these last few episodes though but hopefully amazon will buy it and we won't have to worry.
Edited by McFoyI do like this series.
Made me really want an appropriate space combat game, too. Broadly speaking, smart missiles, railguns, PDCs, armour, some vaguely inertia-based movement system.
Full thrust isn't too bad a system to start with, I guess.
c'mon Netflix, pick this up!
Live ratings for Wednesday’s episode were higher than usual, but not by a huge margin.
It was also one of the the best episodes of the series.

Edited by TasteTheRainbowHaving read the book series (well halfway through).... it was right to end it there. They jump the shark between book 3/4. As a stubborn reader I will continue well past the point where a series should have died... and sci-fi is making a dang good call.
From another perspective... if you feel that the Star Wars franchise would have been better off if certain films were not made... hold onto that mindset with this cancellation.
Edited by Cr0akerPfffft 4 and 5 are the two best books of the series imo. But I bet they’ll skip book 4 for the series.
Amazon might have saved it. All kinds of news about it. Plus Netflix just end-dated their Expanse coverage for 6/21. Looks promising, but it isn’t s sure thing yet.

I tried my best to depict the Roci for X-Wing. Of course I’ll need to rework stuff for 2.0 but you may be interested nonetheless.
That's pretty sweet.
Last Episode did tie book 2 together well. I still don't think 7 episodes will do much for book 3 but we'll see I suppose. They'll definitely do Book 4, it's one of the more interesting ones and they left a big plot point for it.

To be fair, I remember the Dune & Children of Dune miniseries. Go much further into the dune book series than that and you get the adventures of worm-boy and Duncan Idaho getting killed every few seconds. Leaving it as essentially just the story of Paul Atriedes makes more sense.

Heh. They went through like a third of book 3 in one episode!
What did you see that referenced Ilus?
Haven't watched it yet but got the rundown from a coworker. I'm glad they did a pretty significant time jump, helps cover a lot of the setup. It wouldn't be a big thing to resolve this season but they made a big deal of showing the goop leftover inside the cant and they don't resolve that until after Ilus. I could see them skipping it especially since they spilled the beans about Naomi's kid already but I would greatly prefer they did not. Book 3 is really crucial for getting a grasp on the protomolecule and the overarching story.
Bezos just announced that Amazon is picking up The Expanse. It’s a done deal!
I'm halfway through book 4 on Audible now. Great series! Gonna binge the whole show someday. Very good stuff.
