Yaotl

By DaeMord, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Does anyone know, if you ready Yaotl with Ashcan's ability can you get his bonus twice in a single test. For some reason this just feels wrong to me, wanting to verify

I see no problem with this. Both Ashcan’s ability and Yaotl’s ability are free triggered abilities, so I can’t see that it is any different to using, say, Dig Deep’s ability to boost your skill multiple times during a single skill test.

Are you sure there's a player window to do this? There are two windows in the Skill test timing, both before the test resolves.

I don't see why this would matter. I'm not the best at player window timing, but if yaotl triggers/exhausts, pete triggers to unexhaust him, and then you trigger yaotl again, you would get the bonus of yatol twice.

Is it worth it? I suppose it depends what you discarded, and you have to remember that the 2nd trigger of yaotl will be picking up the icons that are on the card you just discarded to ready him (I think).

Just remember if you commit a card to a test, it doesn't hit your discard until after the skill check resolves. So you can't commit a card and then double it Yaotl or triple it Yaotl and Pete.

You can use it twice on the same ability with Ashcan Pete.

Thanks Jobu! But the discard from Pete to ready Yaotl would hit the discard wouldn't it since it is a nested sequence?

I didn't think of that but yes you are right.

Good point, I misread the OP, was very tired last night. Makes sense now.
