I’m really looking forward to this unboxing. The entire X-wing community will rejoice, casual and competitor alike. There will be no complaints; there will be no second guessing. Their will be no facepalming and no rage. The X-wing forum community will be at peace.

That was difficult to type.

And then everyone will be given a million dollars :P

Has anyone realized that after tomorrow we still won’t know the actual rules of 2.0, even if we know all the components of the kits.

True, but I think basic rules will be the same. And they also told us sth about the new stuff, like how evades work now, calculation etc....

Granted, there probably is not time for the FFG staff to discuss each card, but here's hoping we get most or all the info on camera. That's all we really need: give us the text!

Man, I really hope the Team Covenant video guy gives them his setup for showing cards on stream.

If they really, really want to troll us it would go down like this:

  1. Shot of one of the conversion kits in shrinkwrap. No dialogue.
  2. Video as someone removes the box from shrink wrap. No dialogue.
  3. Dicetower style component drop as all three kits worth of parts are poured out slowly in front of the camera.
  4. Pause.
  5. Mic dropped on the pile of components.
  6. Black screen with a countdown timer until Sep 13.

In low enough quality that no text or numbers can be made out :D

Their press about the report never said a single thing about what would be discussed, other than new Star Wars releases. People sure did assume a heck of a lot, though, and that's entirely on them. Here's the only statement about what would be discussed in the official article about it:

"On May 1st at 12:00 P.M. Central Time, we’ll be holding the Star Wars Hyperspace Report at the Fantasy Flight Games Center—a very special presentation to give you a look ahead at some of our upcoming Star Wars products."

The event did exactly that. It discussed a new product and the expansions for it. There was discussion of future plans for the product line, some design commentary, and organized play info. If FFG had announced that it would be about X-Wing only, the cat would have been instantly out of the bag... and in addition to that, everyone who is (still? really?) whining about the event would (still) be crying that FFG didn't have an hour and a half about stuff for game X, Y, or Z.

All I'm saying is FFG likes to build expectations with vague enough information, and then not those expectations.

Fingers crossed it's a full unboxing stream that shows everything within in detail or at a good chunk of the stuff in detail. But just seeing the cards left in the plastic packaging is equally possible.

I seriously doubt they will have time enough to completely and sistematically spoil everything in the boxes. I bet it will be more like "look this beatiful boxes, they have cards and tokens inside, like this (example 1, example 2) and thats it.

And the internets will roar in rage

Also note that their latest tweet is Conversion Kit singular, not plural. :)

Yet their Facebook post for today announcing the unboxing has it plural... Curse you FFG.

Do we know how long the unboxing event is scheduled to last?

So.... who is going to do live updates on the forums for poor saps that might not be able to access twitch during the live event?

About an hour.

That should given them some time to show some of the dials, pilot and upgrade cards in detail + plus we will see damage deck (which has been spoiled) but still leave plenty unspoiled..

Damage deck is not in conversion kits.

True. They might show it anyway.

That only leaves 20 minutes per kit. That’s not much time... I wouldn’t expect everything to be spoiled.

(Apologies for the double post, I’m on mobile)

Twitch? Why? Their last Twitch broadcast on X-Wing 2.0 was unwatchable. The constant pauses (due to the high # of people on it) was awful. I gave up after a few minutes. Can't FFG use some other platform that can truly support ten of thousands viewers, instead of twitch the only supports a couple hundred people?

Considering twitch are shoving millions of viewers around their platform daily, I'm pretty sure they can handle it.

But FFG did have a YouTube mirror for the Hyperspace report, so maybe they'll do it this time as well if you're having issues.

I also think there will be much, much less stress on FFG's wifi this time.

Im expecting only one kit (probably rebels), and the imperials in like 2-3 weeks, then scum in 4-6 weeks. Spread out the hype.

given its estimated an hour, either this will be super-quick-not-very-detailed spoil of all 3 or that singular announcement was true and its just rebels.

Because rebels are always first ?

They can be first all they want as long as they die in a hail of glorious imperial emerald death rain.
