I just figure the app has them all anyway.

I noted specifically 'casual players' here. IE., "folks who are just interested in playing the game out of the box, without downloading and using an app". That's something they can do with the core set and 2nd edition retail boxes, but apparently not the conversion kits - conversion kit buyers are forced to use the app (or website or PDF download). They have no means to 'play the game out of the box' they are buying.

Overall excited. Little sad my boy Maarek and a Defender wasn't shown. Also really hope Defenders kept the TIE/D card as a configuration card that got skipped over. Or access to a veteran gunner card that let's them attach with a cannon.

There seemed to be quite a few "At the Start of the Engagement Phase" cards. Nice to see that there's some design space in this part of the round.

Oh crap. I was expecting it to be at night. I guess Ill have to watch it later - if thats an option (hope it is)

Anyone else feels that the Jumpmaster is pretty much the only ship shown that looks bad? Unless it's really cheap I doubt it will see much play.

Honestly, I suspect that they'll keep it overpriced for a while, just cos there's a whole lot of antipathy toward them in the wider community.

tie phantom got neutered pretty hard too, and I don't even think rightfully...

am I right in saying that only the Ghost and YT2400 have native 4 die attacks?

Also, it cuts off one thing I was kind of excited about: using quick builds to do something vaguely draft style for a tournament. Each player gets some sort of partly randomly determined set of quick build cards, and uses those to build a list of some amount of points. That's a style of tournament which is a lot less interesting with only two ships per faction.

what made my day is guri finally having a correct ps value.

I have to agree. no quickbuild cards in the conversions is disappointing. not a deal breaker at all but it certainly takes away a lot of the versatility of the new edition. Unless of course, you buy all the new expansions......... yay.

Maarek wasn't shown, but the defender was. Built in x7, extra shield, 2 red kturn, blue 1 banks, PS4 generic

Did they say in the stream that there were no quickbuild cards?

I did not catch that but others are saying they did say it on the stream.

I'm only slightly annoyed that the art on the Han pilot card is the Falcon leaving Cloud City (so not when he was flying it) and only slightly disappointed that the art on the Han crew card isn't him actually in the gunner seat. Oh well!

Looks like it, also the Ghost/Phantom's got hit really hard too. You get an extra shot out the rear.... which is 2-3 dice... so basically a vastly more expensive and complex TIE SF ability. Not impressed, but still have to see the what the final point costs of these ships are.

And is there only a couple pilots for each ship? Or is there 2.0 versions of all pilots?

Am I understanding correctly the wording on Eval? Turn 0 I line him up only he left side facing left and fly him off the board. Turn 2 and place him on your side of the board (your right) range 1 of the board edge and potentially behind your ships?

Wasn't here for the first 30 mins

Got a ghost/phantom SUPER nerf, wookies lost a health, bwings get a nice linked action and bare minimal dial change,

...rebel bias?

Dash thing really does not reflect what designers said, though. No bueno, hope it's expensive as ****

Ewings look **** neat, though

It got a lot less polarized, both when it is good and when it is bad. 1E TIE Phantoms were utterly useless unless top pilot skill, and even then they still folded like cheap paper against certain kinds of ships. 2E Phantoms are presumably a bit cheaper, gained health, and saw opposing firing arcs and red dice get weaker.

Personally, if there was title for the Phantom in 1E which reduced the cost of an ace to something like 31-35 points, but dropped to the 3/2/3/2 statline, I'd be much more inclined to fly one. I'd rather have a ship which, while worse in the good match-ups, isn't as garbage in the bad match-ups.

Ya that's not what I said. I saw it. I want him in a Defender again.

Is C3po still there? Without him should still be able to bring him down.

The way the designers have spoken about it, using the "app" just means going to their web site. It sounds like there will be a dedicated app you can download for vertain devices, but a web browser ought to be enough in general, just like all the squad builders we use now.

Hopefully they feel the same about the new fat Han (Han with EU and Luke crew.
