I wonder if Operatives will be able to issue commands to other units. The only command card of Boba’s we see is just about him. Could help “balance” them a bit, but... who knows.

Straight out of the article:

Although these cards only allow you to issue orders to Boba Fett himself, they also give you access to many of the gadgets Fett has added to his armor.

But I'm sure someone will play the "FFG articles are wrong" card...which must be a Zero Pip card like Han's.... ?

You have a problem with slaughtering ewoks?

Not at all, that just happens to be the scene that pose makes me think of

I saw the pretty pictured but I forgot about all those pesky words.

Thank you. ?

Any thoughts on how thus new immovilized tokens will work?

The sculpt is hot!

EDIT - I LOVE the theme for Boba marking and then taking out the opponent’s commander / operative.

Probably one of the best mini sculpts I’ve seen for Mr. Fett. I’m planning on getting at least two.

But don’t tell FFG that, we don’t want them to start raising prices on us. ?

Gonna guess they are like suppression tokens that only prevent movement.

Could also be like Ion tokens that affect non-vehicles

Fantastic! This is a great way to introduce Boba. I've always been one of "those" fans that absolutely loved Fett and am thrilled to have him so early in the game. I suspect Chewbacca will show up in this same way.

Not sure I liked that they locked him in the imperial faction but I like the command mechanics. overall, I think it works. Not like I've actually played the game yet, still painting. slowly........

Seems pretty likely he'll be the Rebel's first operative to follow up the Han release

god i love this game

Unlocks the potential for all of those other named characters that we thought wouldn’t make good commanders - operatives. Magic. I love it.

I assume that the back of Boba’s card has the following:

Derp: Upon taking melee damage from Han Solo, immediately perform a number of Speed 3 moves sufficient to have Boba Fett leave the play area. Then you are defeated.

Is the operative type just another rank, or are they attached to commanders? The article hinted that they need to be paired with a commander but was a bit vague.

New rank. It just gave examples.

They need to be “paired” with a commander in that your army still needs a commander. Boba is an operative, not a commander, so your couldn’t field an army with JUST Boba. You’d need Vader or Veers there also to meet the army requirements, assuming I’m remembering the rules correctly.

EDIT - I suppose the RRG doesn’t account for the existence of operatives right now, so it’s possible that could change. But it seems safe to assume that armies will need a non-operative commander to be legal.

You know what's gonna be fun and the table is now set for: Neutral Operatives.

Most definitely. While most likely Imperial, I can see some of the other bounty hunters being neutral operatives. Which could pave the way for there being neutral units in general as well.

I think that's where a lot of the "scum and villainy / fringe" will end up as, neutral units of various types that will work for either faction.

Kind of like Empire at War, where if you controlled the planet and it had little settlements on the map, the populace would aid you against whoever was invading. I think thats where we'll see some of the different races come into this game, as neutral units. So we could get tusken raiders, jawas, etc.

If there are ewoks, they will burn. Literally.

Anyone else notice no release date. Not even an estimated one.

Yeah I know, what I meant was, for example, can you have 2 operatives but only 1 commander?

I wonder if the updated rules ref was on hold to include these new rules?

I havnt played that many games so I may be wrong on this....but with all these super characters, lets say the imperial has Darth, Veers and Boba....in missions where you have to use troops to capture objectives etc, wont it become a lot easier to nuetralize the enemy trooper squads?

If you only have 3 for example, cant they be focused and obliterated a bit too easily?

I doubt anyone would use Veers, Vader and Boba. Without any upgrades on them, thats still more than half an 800 army in points. And an easy counter to that is just through sheer numbers using Leia and maxing out the corps / special forces slots.

You should probably plan on getting more than 3 corps units, but remember that commanders and special forces are "troopers" so they can capture and interact with objectives so there's a lot of flexibility with what you run that can still win missions.

They usual don't have them. They even stopped saying "expect this quarter 3" a while ago. Rare exceptions are for things like X-wing 2.0

Well played FFG (slow clap). Well played. I was thinking of dumping Legion for X2.0 in a few months, but now that I see how awesome Boba is, I'm having second thoughts. Plus I'm concerned X2.0 will be a mess for a while. Too much at once. FFG will struggle to handle it properly making the game annoying to play. But who knows. Still, anything Star Wars is awesome.

I imagine we might find a lot of the heroes from the films who are not commanders ending up in this slot.

I really like Boba, seems fun to play. I can imagine most my lists be with Vader and Boba.
