Just fixed up the base of my chimera today, but am really surprised by the stiffness. Usually the shield dials are somewhat stiff but these ones are an absolute pain to even try turning. Any tips to rectify this? it can be a real pain when your ship takes shield damage and you have to shift everything just to get at the shield dial just because it is so stiffffffffff

Take the base, turn the shield until it is solved. ?

Take off the dial, take out the black plug from the cardboard. Repeatedly plop in then take out the black plug from the cardboard. This should losen up the card board and it will rotate more easily.

If it rotates too easily, score the black plug with a hobby knife.

I never would have thought of that! I have a few bases where the dials are way too loose. I'll have to try it. Thanks!

Thinking of it, maybe taping the plug also works. The scoring left the poor plug looking realy messy.

But it is not visible anyway.

It is snowing at my place today, and I too have super stiff shield dials.
