Intensify Firepower clarification

By Captain_Nemo, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

So, during the last game I was using IF. However I mostly used it only with one of my attacks. The first time I used it on both attacks I got into sort of a debate with mate wether I was able to use it on both attacks (similar to Warlord ) or if it was only once per activation (à la Screed).

Now we've Rock-Paper-Scissored it the first case, but I thought it might be better to ask for proper clarification here.

Both attacks.

"... while each friendly ship is attacking a ship..."

• A “while” effect can be resolved during the specified
event and cannot occur again during that instance of the
event.

So the event in question is "friendly ship is attack a ship." Attacking happens twice in the ship's activation:

RRG 2 ATTACK said:

• A ship can perform two attacks during its activation, but
it cannot attack from the same hull zone more than once
per activation.

• A ship can attack the same target with different attacks.

So, one time for each of those two attacks, you can set one die to a single hit.

the close quote tag hates me and I don't know why...

Totally didn't catch that it works for both attacks. That seems to make IF a much better upgrade and definitely one of the best Fleet Commands (along with AFFM).

As long as you provide it with attacks.
