Triple G1-a

By Surak, in X-Wing Squad Lists

ok so I've got 3 G1-a, and fancied trying to use them in a 3-up list.

here is what I've come up with;

2x Gand Findsman with; Adaptability, Fire Control System, Gunner, Vectored Thrusters

4-LOM with; Mist hunter Title, tractor beam, collision detector, Dengar, Veteren Instincts

Points - 100

i know its not super competitive, but I thought it would be fun to see what other people thought of it - please try and keep the 3 G1-A's if you suggest changes.

maths fail

Man, I wish these guys were a few points cheaper. To run 3x with Crack Shot, Gunner, FCS, Vectored would be pretty cool. Move in with Evade or Barrel Rolls, then buzzsaw for offensive mods.

My only thing might be to lower 4-LOM to a Gand Findsman in order to switch to Crack Shot. G1-As aren't that sturdy, so front-loading damage seems good to me.

yeh i had that same problem of cost - expanding on your crack shot idea, what about dropping 4-LOM to a Findsman and then giving all of them Fearlessness?

or as another option Wired, to tale advantage of the stress-tastic dial of the G1?

Fearlessness might work. If it triggers once per ship, that's about the same as a Crack Shot, and there's the potential for multiple triggers. I've always been more of a Crackshot fan, but that's just personal style. I'm not confident in my ability to set up shots for it, but it seems like it's got higher potential.

I've never found Wired to be good, though, and if there's FCS, it doesn't really seem necessary.

Here's a couple builds I use in my G1-As.

https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Scum%20and%20Villainy&d=v4!s!168:18,123,43,-1:-1:-1:;167:175,218,43,-1:-1:-1:;169:152,123,43,-1:-1:-1:&sn=Unsaved%20Squadron&obs=

They all use advanced sensors to try and be more action efficient and flexible.

unfortunately the link doesn't work for me

but as for advanced sensors - I like them on Zuckuss or 4-LOM when I'm running them as part of a mixed squadron, but they are just a little too pricy for a squadron of three G1's

ok so I put the original adaptability version of this on the table tonight, under tournament conditions (helping a friend get some practice in before his first tournament). He flew Kylo Ren in the Silencer (Advanced Sensors), Quick-draw (fire control system), and Omega Leader (Score to Settle) - he had more upgrades, that's just all I remember.

it turned out to be a very close match, with it coming down to 4-LOM vs Kylo at the end (which Kylo won) - I'm definitely thinking that I need the extra firepower from fearlessness, but keeping the vectored thrusters is a must with the limited movement of the G1, surprisingly 4-LOM's ability actually proved crucial in getting Quick-draw off the table as it kept him stressed longer than my opponent would have liked (but hopefully he'll put his account of the game up here as well)

This is one fun challenge honestly. Here's where I start:

Give one Maul, one Dengar, and one K4. They're too good to ignore. The Maul one doesn't need an EPT so leave them as a Freelancer. The other 2 could benefit from EPTs, so give them both Expertise - also too good to pass up. Give one of the elites the mist hunter title, and the other VT. Upgrade the K4 Findsman to Zuckuss - his high PS makes him better with the K4 lock. That leaves you with 4 points to play and this:

Freelancer

Maul

Findsman

Expertise

Dengar

VT

Zuckuss

Expertise

K4

Mist Hunter

Tractor Beam
