"May"be a Bit Late - Steel Squadron Quarantine Thread

By BiggsIRL, in Star Wars: Legion

Technically not our first May article, we've been lazy about putting up a May thread:

I played a Grand Army game: http://www.steelstrategy.com/2018/05/saturday-at-scarif-grand-army-battle-at.html#more

@shmitty is going to GenCon: http://www.steelstrategy.com/2018/05/heading-to-gencon.html#more

But today, I put out a Ground Commander's Guide for General Veers: http://www.steelstrategy.com/2018/05/ground-commanders-guide-general-veers.html

Thanks for the articles. Nice primer/ guide. One thing I noticed-- I was going through Rules-- on page 38/ Ranged Weapons, it specifies that a ranged weapon cannot be in the same attack pool as a non-ranged weapon. So your example of using Wiess to use the 3 guns+fence cutters on a single target wouldn't work. (I had been wondering how to put as many AT-ST weapons on a single target too. I just happened to catch the rule about the weapon pool after reading your article).

Good catch.

Something big is coming. No, not that; something big from Steel Command! And by that I mean it is going to be revealed tomorrow (later today technically).

And it will be about Legion? or X-wing.

:)

Awesome! Looks like a lot of fun.

Another in the series of me trying to figure out what kind of army to take to GenCon: http://www.steelstrategy.com/2018/05/building-legion-army-for-tournament_23.html

Lol, I'm taking a very similar army composition for a spin today (same upgrades on Leia, Luke and Rebel Troopers as well) :D

Luke Skywalker (Jedi Mind Trick, Force Push)

Leia Organa (Esteemed Leader)

2x Rebel Troopers (Z-6 Trooper)

2x Rebel Troopers (MPL-57 Ion Trooper)

Fleet Troopers (MPL-57 Grenade Launcher Trooper)

T-47 Airspeeder (MoDk Power Harpoon)

To be honest, I'm just trying out Leia and the Fleets, so I went for T-47 over RT's for better activation control ;) Might swap it out after a few games :)

I use orbital bombardment on BIKE squads generally in turn one, unless the objective is something the enemy infantry can secure to score points by grabbing it or by staying near by turn 2.

Ignore the cover, weaken them enough to generally make a single well placed volley later in battle kill a bike, massively reducing the firepower of the units.

Didn't see this reply earlier. That is actually a pretty good use of Coordinated Bombardment. Screw bikes forever! Leia is actually really good at deleting bikes from the board regardless, with 3 dice pierce, sharpshooter.

Why is the assault on tralus here? That's armada stuff too and I spend more time there than here. I almost missed it.

You are not being serious guys ?

Awesome btw!

I thought I posted that in the Armada thread too.
