What do you suspect will be the better/funner rebel swarm in 2.0 between a-wings ( green squadron?) and Z-95's based on what little we know? I have enough A-Wings but I only have 3 headhunters at the moment. I'm considering getting a few more for the 2.0 conversion.

I have no idea because we have literally no info on the new Zs. Oddly enough, I also have heard absolutely no one even discuss any excitement over them.

I mean, Zs are kind of boring, but we need some Z hype somewhere!

Yeah I've never flown them much outside of one as a point filler. Might consider getting a few more though just for kicks.

I always thought the Z-95 molds looked better and more crisp compared to the old X-Wings. I suspect the new T-65 will change my mind though.

If the new points values allow for five X-wings, that's what I'm flying. I'm also hoping the TIE Interceptor changes allow for making it a decent swarm ship.

I'd lead towards A-wings being superior. There's a lot more focus on movement and skill, and the A-wings are simply better at it on a crowded board, at least in 1.0. But of course, 5 X-wings will triumph, should it be possible.

I really hope z95s... the a-wing should be a premium ship on the same level as xwings, bwings,etc. They never felt like cheap filler in the video games or the movies. This is the one ship I really hope ffg gets right. I think the dual ept was a good idea but it wasn't enough for a wings to see much play beyond cheap blocker. Which is a silly role for such a tiny ship.

I doubt Z-95 will be the best, since it'd probably just be a weaker version of TIE swarm. Depends if there are upgrades to activate mass Missile Swarms, like XX-23 S-Thread Tracers do in 1E. I'm also guessing "not A-Wing" since they're still 2 red dice (right?) and while they seem to have been spoiled to allow any action to chain into a red boost, I don't think it'd be enough. They'll probably be more expensive than Z's, so any A-Wing list probably has fewer red dice in total. So I'm guessing X-Wing or B-Wing, but I don't think we have enough information right now. If 5X is a list, but you'd be stuck with 4B/Z, then it's X-Wing. If it'd be 4X/A vs 4B/Z, that's a tougher question.

The other question for a heavy Rebel Swarm is 5 ships vs 4 + toys. Like, would Panic Attack 2E be a thing? If you could chain Focus to Barrel Roll on Tactician B-Wings, that'd be amazing. Wiggle that BR to Range 2, and still get focus...

Anyhow, my guess is Rebel swarm is based on a fair number of 3-red dice ships.

Currently the best swarm will end up being u-wings and x-wings for rebels, and an all TIE Reaper list for Imperial. Just because those will only be those ships till September

I do like my B-Wings. That's the ship I'm probably looking most forward to seeing improved in 2.0 on the rebel side of things. BBBZ I dig it.

BBBBZ? I think the Z will be gone and B-Wings will be a good deal more expensive and heavier hitting. Think Defenders with heavy guns instead of slightly better X-Wings.
