Apologies if I've just missed something, but some of the previews have had strange offhand comments making it sound like only the Wave 1 ships will be tournament legal on release. Does anyone know about this? It does seem kind of rough if there are some giant events where each faction can only field two types of ship.

I think it was mentioned on stream that yeah the first couple of official events will be wave one only and/or quick build only just to allow some breathing room so everyone (new and old players) can get used to the new stuff.

everything drops after nova so it should just be store champ kits then. Nothing to major.

The plan to have two different formats. One only using components from released 2.0 waves and one allowing all ships that where converted from 1.0.

It sounds more like a promotional thing than a consistent competitive standard

Gotta showcase the "new" products to build hype and attract new players

Can't really do that with last ed stuff that isn't directly available in 2.0
