Renegade Refit and Servomotor S-Foils bugged ?

By DoctorJanus, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Am I the only one who noticed that the Renegade Refit and S-foils cards cannot be equipped on any X-wing ...? It says "T-65 X-wing only", but Luke Skywalker, Wedge, and most funnily of all, even the new pilots, do ride a simple "X-Wing"...

This is even worse than the Tie Advanced/x1/Adv. Prototype situation ...

You are not the only one who noticed. They will likely define the T-65 X-Wing in the rules insert that comes with the expansion, and since all of the ship names are more descriptive in X-Wing 2.0, it won't be much of an issue come September.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find the information in the forum, cause the research field coughed up "t-65" for reasons unknown...

Expect the rules insert for the Saw's Renegades set to include the ruling that "All X-Wings that do not have the T-70 description are considered to be T-65 X-Wings."

Dont stress too much; come September and the release of V2; X-Wings become T-65 X-Wings and this is no longer a problem.

Personally, this is one where I'm 100% fine saying "Rules as Intended or GTFO." I mean, it'd be nice if they'd changed the tag on the new pilots, had an errata, but whatever. They've got better things to do, and hopefully they'll have their **** together enough in 2.0 to avoid more of these, but whatever.

A little logic works also. There are two X-wings in the game and one is the T-70. Therefore....

The other is the T-85?

Likewise:

  • There are three TIE Fighters in the game. The TIE Fighter, the TIE/fo Fighter, and the TIE/sf Fighter.
  • There are two Aggressors in the game. The Aggressor, and the TIE Aggressor.
  • There are two TIE Advanced in the game. The TIE Advanced, and the TIE Advanced Proto...type... um...

Try not to bump into asteroids, though.

You forgot phantoms and Punisher/punishing one. And TIE Interceptor and m3a Interceptor. Just for more confusion.

I think you made my point. It's like the old riddle, "You have two coins that add up to 55 cents. One is not a Nickel. What coins do you have?"

You have two ships from one faction called X-wing. One is not a T-65. That would be the T-70.

Come on use some Common Sense.

If there's one thing I've come to realize, it's that Common Sense is not all that common. ;)

Unfortunately so true!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FTFY. Please take your concern trolling elsewhere.

What self respecting Star Wars fans DOESN'T know that the original X-Wing was an Incom Model T-65 "X-Wing" Space Superiority fighter?

In my opinion, this "Renegade" Refit simply fixes the X-Wing so that it performs more like it always should have.

What self-respecting Star Wars fan VIEWER, DOESN'T know that the original X-wing could fire its proton torpedoes at least twice ?

I find your lack of on-topic-ness disturbing.

Back on topic, I'm not (only) trolling. I'm just pointing out something that sould have at least been lampshaded in the preview, or already covered in the "upcoming" FAQ. Or do they really have designers that don't respect their own rules ? I mean it's not like it's ambiguous like the Tie Adv. Prototype, it's not like they could have issued new pilots directly with the correct text AND they could package corrected pilot cards (but not the associated tokens) of previous expansions, no ?

At any rate, I guess this is all justified by 2.0 not having this problem, so they don't care about it in 1.0 ... but color me gloomy on this one. (but not totally "This game is toast, I KWIT ? !" ;)

I see that X-Wing has issues, but I'm still loving this game and I'm looking forward to 2.0. ?
